Do you believe airdrops come from twitter media.
« on: January 29, 2024, 06:54:26 PM »
As soon as you enter the twitter account then you can see hundreds of airdrop posts in front of you where there are promises to give many tokens for free. Do you think all these airdrops are true? I think all are false and from here there will be possibility of hacking to connect your personal wallet. So be careful and avoid fake/false airdrop.

It is not only in Twitter, but also in other social media apps. The social media is a free space where scammers can post any kind of lies and fake promises that can lead plebs to being fooled and wasting their time to even join in promoting those shit. Lol.

For example, if you join the X-App, you can see a tweet where you are asked to like and share the tweet to different people, and that you will earn by doing those activities. If you agree to join such an airdrop, you have become part of a scam-project Promoter, and because you were asked to do the activity so that you will get paid, you will definitely say a lot of convincing words, but to make sure you convince the reader. That's why most of those Scam-Airdrops spread fast.

Twitter is one of the best communities for crypto currency as there is a lot of crypto engagement, both promotions of all kinds of crypto, NFT sales, etc., so it is a major space for scammers, especially now that one can buy a blue badge on Twitter for just a few dollars.

The last time I browsed through Twitter, which is now known as X, more than half of the airdrops and crypto promotions that I saw were all scams. Some are some means of tweeting and retweeting to earn free tokens, but at the end of the day, no one will be given any free tokens. Why are some just some clone sites from the original project sites that they will want to use to lure victims to their site? Those who ever fall into their trap will get their funds confiscated. I don't trust any single airdrop from X, and I'm also not a fan of Airdrop, by the way.

However, your involvement with airdrops shouldn't be done with your main ETH address that has tokens in it but a separate address that has no tokens, because of a hack connecting your wallet to claim their token.

Yes, many of them are shitcoins or scams. If choose the wrong ones, they may harm our existing coins in the wallets.
I agree that we never believe easily about the airdrops or free coins. Moreover, if is stated to give good amount of money. No one in the world to give us for free, there should be a realistic reason to earn money. Those fake airdrop is a too sweet way to earn money with less efforts.

I have seen some airdrops on Twitter, Telegram, Reddit, Facebook, and Discord, but I don't trust all of them. In fairness, even so, I think that there are many communities on the said social media platforms that are still participating, even if they don't know anything.

Especially on Twitter, Facebook, and Telegram, there are a lot of scammers, so do your due diligence and be careful about the airdrops you enter.

From my experience, Twitter sucks in general when it comes to filtering out scams. I've seen at least three different airdrops from fake accounts. The airdrop itself is real, just not from the fake MetaMask or Pancakeswap impersonator accounts. If you want to search or find out about airdrop information, you better start by following some airdrop aggregators' accounts on Twitter and then see the recommendations for who to follow next. It works better compared to using the search/trending option as far as my experience goes. Don't forget to double check on the official website or social media you search from search engines to avoid being redirected to a fake website.

In this day and age, so-called social media has become a hub for spreading fake news. Do you agree with me?

They all are not fakes, only those who are spreading the bad wrong news in the market in a wrong way, we just need to see their profile  and old tweets about projects whatever old shared project link is, we should not connect it to our wallet first. we should only join groups that are trusted and verified and we have been working with them for many years their previous tweets. Aso we should see how many people have followed it and how many people are get benefit from this?

The good things to save our self from the fake twitter account kindly investigate deeply. do not connect your wallets without investigating the twitter accounts because in these situations many people are getting involved in this case.

Yes, most of them are fake giveaways and they will usually DM you that you win $5000 worth of a coin but you have to connect your wallet and even some are asking your private keys...in other words most are just scams and frauds looking for somebody to victimize most especially newbies who might not yet been educated on how scams in social media can be working. There are also those who are faking giveaways to increase their following and nothing more, they are not giving away anything yet they keep on posting the same message. Good thing that am not anymore a newcomer to the scene and having been a victim of many scams before I already know how these evil people are working and sometimes they even use the same script in their messages. We have to careful as they are so abundant in X and actually in any social media platforms where people can be found. I believe that there should be an orientation on how to avoid scams in social media...and it should be sponsored and supported by the platform itself.

There are legitimate projects that advertises their airdrops in social media applications but the fakes do that as well. You just have to do the extra work in screening them if you have the time. Ignoring all airdrops asking you to fill a form or other similar shit will probably save you from getting scammed.

I don't think. I am 100% sure that all those airdrops shared in twitter are fake. unless that is shared by someone I know from somwhere else.. Scam Airdrop posts rapidly incrased after twitter started selling verify badge.
It is like a heaven for scammers now to pay couple bucks and get a verify badge and start sharing fake airddrops. sadly so many people fall for them becasuee of their verify badges.
Do you notice most of them also turned off their comments? because they don't want people to comment on their posts and try to warn their people.

Agree, social networks are complicated place, we cannot easily determine what is the truth to trust, especially in the financial sector.

There are many good and potential airdrops, but they need to be promoted by the project itself or leading airdrop service providers. I will never trust an airdrop notification from a personal account on Twitter, Facebook, Youtube...

Always be vigilant and double check every piece of information we receive, especially directly related to our money and accounts. Another key tip is: store most crypto assets in a separate account (address) and never connect to Dapps, and create another account (address) to participate in the airdrop 👍

That's right, I really agree with what you said. Participating in airdrops requires being more careful and, as much as possible, being as vigilant as possible, because currently, to participate in airdrops, you usually have to connect your wallet to a site, and you don't have to fill out forms anymore; you just connect your personal wallet to the site. Those who cannot be trusted are also very risky because they can drain all the assets you have. From this, it can be said that when participating in airdrops, you must remain alert.

I'm not airdrop fan, So I don't know which airdrop are true or scam. I have participated in airdrop but didn't get anything. It's waste of time and really annoyed.
I see several friends get big rewards but I didn't interest to join. Better to participate in signature bounty campaign, paid BTC weekly.
