Stablecoins on TRON without fees

Justin Sun just announced that he will remove all fees from Stablecoins.

Last week I just transfered 50$ USDT on TRC-20 and paid 8$ for the transaction, I am looking forward to that update.

What do you guys think about it? Are you facing the same issue on TRON?

I think Justin Sun is back on the attack with some of his crazy ideas, maybe without thinking about the possible consequences, but that's something that time will tell. I think a reduction would have been better rather than eliminating the fees completely.

After seeing your posts, I recommend that you improve the quality of your posts to avoid possible sanctions in the future.

Adding context and external information is always better for the conversation and brings different points of view.

I think a reduction would have been better rather than eliminating the fees completely.

One of the usefulness of a coin or token is that miners are earning from transaction fee. If a coin or token has no fee, I do not think that coin or token has any value. Reduction in fee is better than eliminating the fee. But I guess this is about a new stable coin and not the existing ones. But I may not be right.

USDT has, as you probably know, several ways to send, and in fact Tron was one of the cheapest, as always it all depends, when I want to send USDT if possible I use the polygon network, there it is not zero, but it is almost zero.

If Justin Sun can do this, then this is a problem because TRON has become a central currency and an individual can control the direction of development, but it is nothing more than an attempt by Justin Sun to steal the spotlight again.


TRON network has high fees and many competitors offer cheaper fees, so they must take serious steps in reducing fees. Otherwise, choosing alternatives will not be difficult, and losing Stablecoins means that the blockchain has become worthless.

It was very stupid from him when he added energy and other complications that increases fee a lot unless you are staking Tron.

I know what you are saying, I quit using stable coins on Tron because of fees and switched to L-USDT, that is Tether on Bitcoin Liquid Network.
Fees are basically zero and I can easily swap L-USDT to L-BTC and back to Bitcoin mainnet.
There is even an option to receive L-USDT from Tron and Ethereum network when using Aqua wallet.

What do you guys think about it? Are you facing the same issue on TRON?

That's precisely what I meant when I said "maybe without thinking about the possible consequences" in my previous post. I don't know what Justin Sun is thinking, but seeing statements like this I think he lives more and more separated from how a blockchain works and also more separated from reality. At the end of the day, and seeing his statements on X/Twitter, I simply think he is seeking media attention and attention from his followers, since he says he is going to do many things that he never does, as the latest film that he himself has written and directed under the title "I'm going to buy 50,000 Bitcoins from the German government".

I'm sure he knows people stops using stablecoin in TRX when the fees goes up. It used to be so cheap,  a lot are using it and then the changes are done.

Justin wanting people to used TRC20 USDT again, he doesnt need to make tx free but just make it cheaper once again. He might be seeing users coming back to Tron and maybe sig campaigns paying USDT in TRON will be back.

Well, I don't like or trust Sun either, I will wait for the launch of new stablecoins on Tron, and will also consider specific user reviews before I can trust what Sun promises.

I'm still used to using USDT on CEXs and rarely care about which blockchain it operates on. I also don't choose TRX for my investment portfolio, I just want to see the growth of stablecoins and then the explosion of the entire crypto market.

I honestly have never done any onchain transactions using tron. It was just my favorite when making exchange withdrawals which used to be around $1. The existence of this plan makes me a little hopeful that stablecoin withdrawals on exchanges will be free, it is beneficial in the long run. However, they also have to improve the scalability of their network. Otherwise, it will end up worse than the solana network.

there are many alternatives available to USDT TRC20, and if they do not do anything, investors may move to another blockchain, especially since the Omni Layer Protocol was working on Bitcoin, and yet it stopped due to fees.

Current Total Net circulation of Tether is $112,862,180,225 (reminds me on number from US debt clock) and I simply don't believe that all this is backed 1:1 with fiat currency.
To tron or not to tron usdt, better be careful and don't hold this tokens long term.

Tether is a controversial cryptocurrency that has been designated as a favorite crypto for illegal activities. Holding it does not make any sense as it value will remain constant since it is pegged with USD. The only benefit I can see of using USDT is to make payments by paying a small fee of $1 USDT on the Tron network. Using the tronlink wallet and after staking a sufficient amount of TRX to gain bandwidth & energy a user will not pay any kind of fee for the transaction.

I do not understand why OP has paid $8 fee first for a TRC-20 token transaction and what does Justin mean by zero fee?

To say "successes" is probably being very generous. Tron has not had any success, it is a project that has had more downs than ups and that does not have a development that stands out from other blockchains. BTT (BitTorrent) barely has any use beyond the BitTorrent ecosystem itself, and USDD is a danger that can be called "success" as long as it does not end up like other stable coins that fell to the bottom not many years ago.

To be honest, I think Justin Sun has started a lot of things, but he hasn't finished any of them yet.
