But what I was trying to say is that most of the time, people's first reaction is negative, and that's because not many folks have been through this themselves or seen someone close go through it. They can really relate and understand. But the truth is, most people haven't had that kind of close up experience with addiction. So my point is as a society we really need to learn how to be more understanding and supportive. We're not really taught how to handle these situations, how to treat people who are struggling, which is something we need to work on. We need to bring a bit more empathy.
