Title: eToro to delist Cardano by 2022 for US users
Post by: Zardbeig on November 30, 2021, 01:15:18 PM
In a statement released (https://www.etoro.com/en-us/news-and-analysis/etoro-updates/important-update-regarding-ada-and-trx/) to customers on Tuesday, Israeli cryptocurrency exchange eToro announced it would delist Cardano (ADA) and Tron (TRX) for United States customers by the end of the year.

After Dec. 31, U.S. users will no longer be able to open new positions in the tokens nor stake ADA and TRX. In addition, wallets will be effectively in withdraw-only mode until the first quarter of 2022, when selling will also become limited. In making the decision, eToro cited regulatory concerns surrounding both assets.

The move came as a surprise to some as ADA has not been traditionally associated with regulatory troubles. In context, tokens like Ripple (XRP), whose creators are currently engaged in an ongoing lawsuit with the Securities and Exchange Commission, or SEC, as well as Monero, which is a privacy coin that some fear is easily abused for illicit purposes, are facing the brunt of regulatory scrutiny in the cryptocurrency industry.

In such situation, privacy coin like Crypton can be a good way out. It has own no KYC decentralized exchange (https://crp.is) and there are no restrictions or prohibitions on use by citizens of the United States or other countries. And this will be one of a few possibilities to continue using privacy coins. As I've heard some rumors that other exchange pairs are planned to be added to their exchange.

Hmm, interesting. And what kind of regulatory issues related to assets did they have in mind? This is very unexpected news that makes us doubt the reliability of these projects.

It's hard to answer.. Regulations are only discussed all the time, but no one gives any concrete points. But seems that exchanges do expect something concrete and that's why they decided to delist some coins. Looks like privacy coins will be under attack first of all. In any case, Crypton exchange already added Monero to the list, so we can be calm. It will be still accessible no matter what will happen.

By the way  I thought they'll keep the exchange just for their own coins and nothing more. https://crp.is/exchange/xmr_usdt And Monero is one of the top privacy coins. A great work was made and I'm sure it'll bring great results. The more visitors will come to Crypton exchange, the more is the chance that Crypton will gain again. Even without that, it continues rising and seems to reach 2$ value the nearest days, or maybe hours!

Yes, you are saying very right things! I am glad that the Utopia team has released another promising update. I want to say that their scale of development pleasantly surprises me.

How many more updates are coming in 2022. Just try to imagine! I think that the events taking place over the past year, the updates that have been released, all this shows the prospects of the project.

Yeah, at least, users are looking forward to the release of the mobile version of the application. I continue to believe that the release will happen before the end of the year, but it seems that my faith is evaporating.

I don't think so. Everyone are on holidays already so the work on the mobile version will be renewed in a new year already. It's okay, of course it needs time and hard work to make it perfect. As many will see the project for the first time then.

You're probably right. I wouldn't want the developers to release a raw version of the app. Therefore, I agree that it is better to wait.

And for now we can get fun with a bot that operates within Utopia p2p channels. All you have to do is type him something and you'll take part in a small give-away that is held every day, if I'm not mistaken. Very cute game in order to get some free crypto.

Oh, wow! You know, it might be a good distraction. Especially in order to pass the time while waiting for the updates promised by the developers.

Look like Utopia p2p developers always keep their promises :) I'm sure no one even waited for something like that, but Bitcoin was listed on Crypton no KYC exchange https://twitter.com/UtopiaP2P/status/1480838807935078402?s=20 Now even top coin can be traded fully anonymous.

The SEC's hand reaches many places and its power is enormous. It is not a direct attack on cryptocurrencies, it is an attack on cryptocurrencies that cannot be traced to identify users and payments. The SEC does not want cryptocurrencies that their investigative agencies cannot track, so they will do everything necessary to banish them from their territory, another thing is that they can get it 100%, since there will always be ways to evade all restrictions.

Well To be honest, it seems to me that they were not only able to keep their promises - they also surpassed them to some extent. I couldn't even think that the next exchange pair would be Bitcoin. It's unbelievable.

And how do you think, what can be next, if the top 1 coin was reached, what can be added next? Ethereum? Some hype coins? Or NFT as the next trend? In any case, as it can be accessed from any country, it will reach the top soon.

The next could be any coin/token that, for whatever reason, the SEC and FED don't like. But I think it is more for political reasons and it is possible that they use the excuse of "defending" the dollar, something that would not make much sense considering the amount of coins/tokens that are in the market and that are accessible to citizens of the United States. Whatever happens is no problem for Tron and Cardano, they are available on many other exchanges.

Oh, that's an interesting question, but I don't know. However, I don't think the developers will add NFT coins. They don't seem like promising coins to me at the moment. Therefore, I expect that the developers will add some more familiar coins

I can't say anything about popular coins to be listed on Crypton exchange, but they announced the development of their own launchpad https://utopiap2p.medium.com/utopia-launchpad-preview-a-new-chapter-of-the-utopia-p2p-ecosystem-4242cd6c4a50 So all the tokens that will be generated by users with the help of a built-in generator, will be automatically listed on Crypton exchange. It's interesting if there will be a great release and bump within those new tokens.

Up to now, I don't understand why eToro acts like that. Cardano is a good and potential project, it can compete with Ethereum or Solana in the future. I don't understand what problem eToro fears with Cardano by delisting ADA.

This is a very unexpected update! I must say, I am pleasantly surprised by the variety of updates that are being released to developers. The project is growing, its functionality is increasing, which undoubtedly indicates its successful development.

I don't think eToro makes any statement as to why all ADA pairs are removed from the exchange, and if they do, I don't think they were sincere statements. The reasons may be political reasons or maybe the SEC is targeting ADA at some point to start some of their famous lawsuits as eToro is based in the US. At this point, I think the most important thing now is that all users have enough time to withdraw their funds, luckily ADA is available on many other exchanges.

And no more days without updates! :) Crypton privacy coin and Utopia USD stablecoin are going to be listed on CoinTiger and Lbank exchanges: https://twitter.com/LBank_Exchange/status/1490988812763381763 It will be especially interesting for those, who doesn't believe in these coins due to the absence on good exchanges.

The main thing is for the coin to improve on its own exchange and get more users. But as I can see for now, it's rate is keeping about 1$. But I guess that while web 3 is getting more popularity - there will be more new users in Utopia p2p as it's a great representative of this technology.
Yes, I think you're right. The popularity of Web 3 has grown dramatically in recent years. However, I am concerned that most often this Internet model is discussed in the context of metaverses and nft. I believe that the main advantage is data security and the absence of indexing.

Wow! I'm really excited about this update. The coin continues to be added to other exchanges, this is great news for the crypto community. What do you think about this situation?
