EOS Unbeaten. Remains 1st on China’s latest CCID Rank

EOS seems to have won the heart of Chinese crypto enthusiasts. Yesterday, China’s Center for Information and Industry Development (CCID), under the Country’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, published the latest update of its Global Public Blockchain Technology Assessment Index (GPBTAI). The study concludes that EOS is the best cryptocurrency within the global market cap, with a score high enough to keep it in first place during several editions of this ranking.

According to an official press release, “EOS topped the list with a total score of 156.1 points” a remarkable achievement for EOS as it not only remains undefeated for months but has had a considerable improvement compared to previous scores over the last few months.

The methodology used to develop the score is not fully explained; however, it is known that the final score is the result of the aggregation of 3 ranks that evaluate the technological aspect, the potential for application in everyday life and the level of innovation that each development has.

EOS is Great But Not Perfect
The results showed interesting changes compared to previous months. Ethereum remains in the second position while Bitcoin is ranked 18th:

“EOS topped the list with a total score of 156.1 points. Ethereum ranked second, with an assessment index of 136.4. The two indexes are still the lead at the very top. GXchain replaced BitShares in third place with a score of 117.5 in this assessment, while BitShare fell by five in the current evaluation, ranking eighth. Komodo, Ontology, NULS, Nebulas, BitShares, NEO, and Steem shared the fourth through 10th spots. Bitcoin evaluation index stayed in the middle of the list with a score of 96.1, ranking 18th.”

The ranking also evaluated the most popular consensus algorithms in the tested cryptocurrencies. According to the results, the use of Delegated Proof of Stake seems to be increasing and is the algorithm used by 6 of the 10 top blockchains.

Despite being a general study, the individual results for each area are equally interesting. Nothing is Perfect, and there is not a blockchain that suceeds in “everything.”

• In Technology, the top five are EOS, BitShare, Steem, GXChain, and Ontology
• In Application the top five are Ethereum, NEO, Ontology, Nebulas, and Qtum.
  
• In Innovation, the top five are Bitcoin, EOS, Ethereum, Komodo and Cardano.

It's not surprise for me when in China, EOS has the most complete ecosystem that can support all other coins. For an example, ONT is a coin that developed and created base on EOS ecosystem.
