As a newbies no force yourself to invest in crypto if you no sey your source of income no go dey enough for you to spend outside, Na why dey sey make you invest the money wey you go fit afford to lose in crypto.
Do not misinterpret investment (holding) to trading and gambling. If you are buying the altcoins, you are gambling with most of them because their prices are too volatile. And you know how gambling is risky. If you are trading, even with bitcoin or altcoins, you are also risking your money. Both gambling and trading are areas your advice is good because they are very risky. If you are investing in bitcoin, you can still DCA with 30% of your monthly income. If the price is going down, see it as more opportunities to buy more and continue to buy. A time will come when you will make enough profit.
You’re right but you didn’t get my point well. Of course For someone who has little knowledge about cryptocurrency it will best for them to invest their money on bitcoin and since the majority of people are stem from low income family the DCA strategy is the best strategy to adopt when investing in crypto and bitcoin should prioritize investing in bitcoin since they don’t have much knowledge on cryptocurrency and will be very risky for them to invest in altcoins yet. Before investing in any altcoin they need to be able to figure out and differentiate legitimate coins with brighter future and invest in them.

General Discussion / Re: What are the standards of a good location??
« on: February 11, 2024, 08:14:41 AM »
In today’s world where there are different types of insecurity around what do you think is the standard to consider while looking for a place to settle down with your family???

I do not believe that moving to a standard location will solve the problem of insecurity because insecurity is something that the government can fight in a country but pretend not to do anything about, so there's a chance that the new location you move to won't be safe either. For example, before people used to move to Abuja, the capital city of Nigeria, because there was adequate security there, but today, with the number of kidnappings there increasing daily, this is where people believe will be the safest place in Nigeria and today Abuja is no longer safe again.

standard locations can only serve temporarily, so in my opinion I believe that protesting is the best way to address insecurity and force the government to take action.

This is not possible at all, changing your favourite team to another team,it's like falling in love with two different Women, but this one is quite different,I wonder how many can be so faithful to a particular club without switching to another when their team lose.So many times I have tried changing my team to another club who is doing well, but I find out that it so impossible to do that.I am a Liverpool fan,and I will remain a Red till death do us path. This is a club I loved from childhood, and till date,I'm still in love with my club.

Football is something that has to do with feelings, so in my opinion, it is possible. I have supported Manchester City since I was a young child. Players like Mario Balotelli, Sergio Aguero, and Tevez really makes me developed strong feelings for the team that year. So in 2012, I don't know how it happened, I see that I've started to have feelings for Chelsea because of Ballack and Frank Lampard's playing styles. That was the reason for changing from Manchester City to Chelsea.

my friends that I watched ball together with at the time, they told me that I wasn't a good football fan because a good football fan had to be patient and only support one team. But I didn't mind them because I knew that I supported the team that made me feel comfortable because everything in this life is based on your level of comfort.

Lionel Messi is another perfect example to me, it still seems like a dream that he left Barcelona. so if Messi will be in Barcelona right from his childhood and still leave, in my opinion it is possible one should change from his favorite team to another, what matters is comfort.

You have to learn that altcoins are risky, especially the new ones, and even if you study the project or the team behind it, you can still buy a wrong coin or be scammed. If you read what other members say about certain coins, it could help you narrow down your research and study those coins, but you must still invest what you can afford to lose.

If you are a newbie, i would recommend that you start with investing in BTC and when you understand the crypto industry, you can then go on to invest in altcoins which are more risky.
I think generalizing it would be better, cryptocurrency is risky investment but i guess he is aware of that already considering he owns BTC, ETH and Lite. Altcoins are very risky especially new coins that are barely just developing, they can be profitable to some extent but alot of them can not survive for long and after making profits there is no guarantee in their future and these new coins are actually full of scam projects which will make it difficult to identify the legitimate coins from the fake coins. To invest in new projects a lot of research needs to be made about them backed up with prayers in order not to lose your money.

As a newbie investing in already developed projects is better so the risk will be minimal, so the riisk will be volatility and not risk of being scammed as well.

USDT Forum / Re: Which wallet is the best wallet to hold USDT
« on: February 03, 2024, 01:11:27 PM »
Wow i have seen and read your respective ideas and i am now clear of the wallet choice I should go for. I used to think keeping usdt requires a special kind of wallet from holding your coins but i now understand that it all depends on the network of your usdt and i have made a choice already, i think i will be going for the unstoppable wallet because it is open source and open source wallets are best wallet choices and for mobile i think my research proves that unstoppable wallet is the best.

Of course, I had already invested before I knew about bitcoin. At the beginning I didn't really know what it was but I knew that it was quite volatile and as such it can give you a lot of profit but it can also go down a lot and fast. In the end I realised that, as in the stock market, the best investment in bitcoin is slow and boring, buying regularly as far as you can afford and forgetting as far as possible about the ups and downs of the market.

You're right, invest in bitcoin if we want to gain big profit needs a long time to do.
Buy and always buy when bitcoin price still low.
And hold for 3-4 years.
It's annoying but worth.
Before I invested in bitcoin at the past, I learn more . It seems fluctuate, But bitcoin can give us a lot profit.
We know, bitcoin always have halving and touch bullish every 4 years.
Long time investment is the best way to profit big when investing in bitcoin. Buying at every dip and accumulating bitcoin to hold for about 3-4 years and more can be somewhat profitable and less risky than short time investments.
It has not been too long I started investing in bitcoin though it is long I know about bitcoin and cryptocurrency but situation in my country wouldn’t let you trust any online investment. I hesitated because I don’t have the required knowledge to understand it’s concept at that time but i am glad it is never too late to invest. I am adopting DCA strategy and accumulating gradually.

We all are witnessing a never ending dump in the crypto market as of now, but at the same time this could be an opportunity to get the best cryptos at the bottom low.

As I am quite new to crypto currencies.. can I have your picks of the top coins in which money could be put in, for a holding period of at least six months.

Thanks in advance.
We all in shock as we are witnessing a dump currently in the market despite ETF approval that we have all been anticipating and expecting pump in cryptocurrency prices. There is a saying that every disappointment is a blessing so the wise ones could actually turn things around to their own advantage because this is an opportunity to buy more coins at a low price and keep anticipating more profits.

At times like this almost every coin can be beneficial especially now that the bull run is around the corner but selecting the best coins to invest in is also an important thing. Before investing one needs to carefully carry out research even when people are identifying several coins that are best to invest in.

Never invest in a coin because you were told to do so, make sure you research on the coin and conclude by yourself if it is worth investing your money in.

My best picks are
BTC, ETH, SOL, and ADA are coins with good potential in my opinion.

You guys might be thinking that this is just a demo, so why worry? And my reply is that there is a need to worry because you can actually use the demo account to learn how to master and control your emotions and how to listen to your inner voice when it speaks to you to stop. You will also learn how not to get greedy, but you can achieve those characters if you actually handle your demo balance as if it's already your main balance (your real money).
Demo trades are designed to train you on how to handle your finances and real trades and anything that happens in demo can as well happen in real trades. We should adopt all necessary skills that are meant for real trades in demo trades so we get used to them when we begin to trade with real money. Controlling one’s emotions is the most important skill to master and if we can master it and know when to stop and also when to enter a new trade and keep greed out of our trades in a demo trade then there is every possibility of success in real trades.

Conclusion: I feel that greed is one problem in trading that can actually lead to unexpected losses. My advice is that, as a trader, always take that profit you have made. If, for example, you entered a position and it's really going in your direction, if you have seen a +$100-$500 profit, it's better to take it first.
Greed is a serious issue that every trader needs to address first before they start trading if not they are at the risk of losing their money. Greed will make one to lose already earned profits because we are still eager to make more profit rather than taking profits. I will still say this again, if you can control your emotions and leave greed out of your trade then your success is only a matter of time.

Nice translation, now we fit easily understand wetin dem de talk properly and how to activate the telegram notifier.
Do not say that, we all understand English as well. Although, I am not implying that it should not be translated in Pidgin, but we all understand everything about it in English.

What we want most is for people on local board to easily notice and see it and this has already been done here: Altcointalk telegram notifier

The forum do not have notifications for new topics and replies, we really need these. Let us hope this Telegram bot will support both soon.

You are right, i almost didn’t notice that there is already a translation of the post in the board maybe because i am not too frequent in the board.

I also noticed that the notification is only for mentions, it almost three days now and no one has mentioned me and e con de feel like say the bot no really get much use compared to BTT notifier wey get notification for new topics. Will be nice if the bot is updated to support notifications for new topics and replies and probably for new karma received.
