Why Ethereum is underperforming?

The prospect of Ethereum also launching its spot exchange-traded fund (ETF) just like Bitcoin electrified many ETH holders, investors and supporters worldwide assuming that it would also experienced what did happen with Bitcoin...but right now things seems to be taking a different with Ethereum really underperforming compared to other assets in the market including crypto ones.

Of course, many are disappointed but they are continually holding on thinking that eventually the RED will be GREEN at the right time.

So what are the factors that create this situation of Ethereum? Some market participants may attribute the lackluster performance of cryptocurrencies to traditional financial market conditions, but Ether is also facing its own set of challenges, including lower network fees, unappealing staking rewards and weak demand for its recently launched spot exchange-traded fund (ETF) products. Therefore, it’s worth exploring whether these factors will continue to drive Ether’s price down in the future.

Do you agree with the factors stated above or you think that there can be more maybe behind the scene?

but right now things seems to be taking a different with Ethereum really underperforming compared to other assets in the market including crypto ones.

i think this can be traced back to bitcoin it is not really performing as a lot of people would have expected everyone expects it to surpass 70k usd but it’s already september and it is still down until now so im pretty sure that sets the tone for the rest of the other cryptocurrencies

us fed to cut interest rates might be a factor to why the market has been down and is expected to go down even more once it is officially announced what is confusing to me is why would it go down when famously when the interest rates are cut people turn to riskier investments like bitcoin which should boost its price

We know that ethereum is the second position crypto in cryptocurrency market. We also know that ethereum is also most valuable crypto in cryptocurrency world. But unfortunately we saw that ethereum prices is underperforming position in this moment. Because we know that bitcoin price is very low down in this moment. So we also know that when bitcoin price will down, than ethereum price will be down. But when bitcoin price will high than ethereum price will be reach in high level. So i believe that in very soon ethereum price will increase gradually.

The US interest rates adjustment has always been absorbed by market forces like, FOMO ( FEAR OF MISSING OUT), Demands. However, Ether has not been performing well because the market movements is most times controlled by Bitcoin, that is, the Btc market dominance. Dominance is one of the weak link to altcoins even Ether token. As said, Ether underperformance is due to Bitcoin dominance, plus poor demands, and other market forces like speculations and hypes etc.

So we also know that when bitcoin price will down, than Ethereum price will be down. But when bitcoin price will high than Ethereum price will be reach in high level. So i believe that in very soon Ethereum price will increase gradually.

With the way things are happening with the price movements of ETH right now, I am sure it would be safe to say that it is very much linked to the things happening with BTC. In other words, up to now, there is still no decoupling between the two assets as they are acting like best friends where one goes so does the other. Of course, we should also note that the ETH ETFs are not performing well as expected as we are now hearing of big outflows than inflows. Anyway, when BTC will experience a big bull run am hoping that ETH would also be following the direction.

As of current market conditions ETH not moving as expected coz of investor found that after ETF of ETH fund not inflow as expected not that much as expected and also BTC correction also responsible for that.

Personally my view for next few month ETH can hit 4500 usdt by Nov 2024 end.

Well, the truth of the matter based on what I think is that, the high cost of transactions on ethereum network with several other blockchain networks offering a way faster and cheaper alternatives has caused many to abandon ethereum entirely to focus more on bitcoin and other Altcoins built on cheaper and faster blockchain networks, leaving only the whale holders of ethereum to be the ones using the chain for their day to day activities, this more or less have affected ethereum in ways that many of us are not even imaginning..

I can outrightly tell us all that one of the reasons why ethereum is still very much at the top of other Altcoins is due to its first mover advantage and privilege cus right now, you will agree with me that ethereum is no longer the best blockchain, there are other blockchains that are not only performing better, and are even more secure than ethereum is, all of this are affecting the price of ethereum.

Yup, I do agree with that, Eth is underperforming but I'm not sure why because there were many good developments related to ETH, but ETH is not behaving well on any news trend. Currently, the entire market was under pressure which is one of the reasons but its not showing any positive move yet even market is moving in a good direction now. But still, we should hold maybe this is some kind of patience stage haha market is unpredictable so we need to be patient, as there's still huge potential for the ETH.

That would be great, but I can't believe ETH will reach 4,5k in a short time
The way ETH is in relation to BTC, it seems to me that BTC would have to reach 100k for ETH to reach 4.5k.
Remember that this year BTC achieved an ATH, but ETH was still far from hitting an all-time high

Competitiveness is difficult for ETH, even though it is the core for other networks, the money has become very diluted in other coins or L2s

Its my question waiting for why ethereum price is underperforming recently after dropping under $2,300 and difficult break out any more to the higher price. Since bitcoin get dropped under $57k never seeing anymore with Ethereum success break out above $3k and have one month looking for Ethereum keep decreasing down.
Today waiting what possibility in the future for Ethereum price will be success again break  or keep stable under $3k before bitcoin recovering back to higher price, I see if bitcoin break out again to $60k seems possibility with Ethereum reach above $3k or waiting more longer time.

Although many may believe that the high fees of the Ethereum network are the reason for the failure of the network and the estrangement of projects from it, in reality it was a strong point for the network in that it was burned and thus contributed to making the ether deflationary.

With the reduction of fees, the amount of Eth burned will decrease and thus the supply will increase, which plays a role in the decrease in price, in addition to the set of factors mentioned above.

In fact, it is a double-edged problem in that the high fees lead to everyone staying away from using the network and the reduction of fees leads to the possibility of the Eth inflation.
