You are actually still using your fiat money when you use your credit cards so it is not that credit cards too replaced money. That said, I understand that many people want this to happen or have been on this discussion about Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies replacing fiat money but this shouldn't be the case because to me, Bitcoin before now and still now is been valued by the fiat money USD which we are now talking about replacing.
I however do believe that even though some organizations/institutions are accepting Bitcoin as some form of payment, I don't think it should be a thing of a replacement instead of coexistence.

What do you mean by "mainstream online stores" ? Online stores like amazon, for example? They do not accept Bitcoin. If you meant any El Salvador online store - then each and every store there must accept bitcoin as a payment, since it is a national currency now.
