It feels like such a long time ago that Bitcoin Cash (BCHABC) was trading around $300, while Bitcoin SV (BSV) was trading at $100, representing a total Bitcoin Cash pre-fork value of $400. But this was only last month. In this short time, Bitcoin Cash has dropped an astonishing 80% in the past month to an all time low of $115, as one of the worst-performing cryptocurrencies in recent weeks. In contrast, Bitcoin SV is trading just over $90, with an all time high around $140, and a low of $37.
Feelings on CSW and BSV aside, do you think that Bitcoin SV will soon displace Bitcoin Cash as the largest Bitcoin fork by market cap? Given the similarity of circulating supplies at present, if BSV returns to it's ATH, and BCH fails to recover, BSV would overtake BCH by market cap for the first time. There is otherwise at present only $25 dollars that separates these two cryptos, a figure that has dropped substantially in recent weeks as BSV continues to grow nearer to BCH.
Other metrics include BSV's stable hash rate as it yet again overtakes BCH as the longest Bitcoin Cash hard fork, as of writing, but these statistics flutuate greatly. Notably it has been marginally more profitable to mine BCH than BTC post-fork, whereas it's on average 50% more profitable to mine BTC than BSV. Despite this, BSV's hash rate remains strong in the face of continued loss of revenue from miners. It's clear there are some stubborn mining pools at play here.
