Government Lotteries are a Scam!

This may be hard to accept but I watched a great video explaining how government Lotteries are literally a SCAM and I fully agree with that.

It was not enough for them to extort all the taxes from people so they created this scheme of milking more money from poor people.

Statistics say that  you have better chance of  being killed by vending machine than winning the lottery

The government takes everything when they are the one running the lotteries, they tax the bets deduct 20% from the winners, and cheat and manipulate the results when the prize skyrockets because in our country the winner/winners are not allowed to show their faces to protect themselves, because of this they can connive and make it appear there's already a winner and when there is none yet.
Our lawmakers are doing investigations right now, but there's a growing concern that there is cheating and manipulation on the results but of course, they will do everything to conceal it.

It is obvious that the government no longer have the trust of their citizens as a result of their insincerity. I have never seen any where were a citizen speaks something positive of their government. It is always negative So I would not be surprised if the case here is still against the government. The rate at which corrupt practices are being abetted by government officials,  is not encouraging. Little wonder citizens no longer trust or depend on the government because of what they do.

I think tax deduction can be even higher than 20% in some countries.
They sell lottery tickets to everyone with tax, they collect all the money and they charge tax again, brilliant scheme

No need to speak good or bad about any government, just look at the facts and numbers.
They are pretending to want protection of people from gambling with different laws and limitations, and in same time they are promoting state lottery gambling ripoff scheme.
Dont buy their tickets and dont participate in their lotteries.

This is basically if the government releases lottery tickets for special events, there is no system of cheating in the case of lottery on the occasion of Independence Day, lottery on the occasion of World Cancer Day, lottery on the occasion of World Mother's Day, lottery on the occasion of World Environment Day. No cheating by the government in these cases.  There is no chance to do it but if any organization is selling lottery on behalf of the government outside of these working days, there is certainly a possibility of cheating.
In my country there are occasional cases of scam lottery sales and news of millions of dollars being stolen from the common man.  If legal measures are taken in this case, then no decision is taken by the government, then it is evident that the government has a big contribution in scamming.

The video would have been better if not sponsored by another lottery. Anyway, it's not the type of scam that I was expecting.

From where I'm from, there's a conspiracy theory that our National Lottery (Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office) is being used to fund the current Government's attempt to change our constitution (as a bribe). I don't blame them because there has been a surge of winners from last year to present. Almost every week, you see one lucky winning ticket. There are suspicions that majority of those winners are fake/accomplice. Recently, the PCSO was even caught editing a picture of a supposed winner. Last year, they were also questioned about the 433 people that won the jackpot (the same draw).

It is a type of oppression of the government because the government collects money from the people in various ways even after taking taxes from the people. Maybe giving such a lottery to the government is an alternative method of collecting such a tax.
In my country also the government organizes various such lotteries but till date I have not seen the draw of that lottery then I will assume it is some kind of scamming by the government.

Apart from the fact that the tax that they will deduct from the amount that will be won in the lottery is already large, they can even release that the winner is not known to them, but the truth is that it could be a distant relative of the official.

This is just my guess of what a leading official in the government lottery can do, but if the people know about it, it is sure that the people will encourage them in that regard. And maybe no one bought the lottery because of that system if that is true.

Why is it a scam?
Did they promise you will definitely win?
Did they guarantee you a prize when you bought a ticket?
Did they force you to pay for a ticket?

If the lottery is a scam than every gambling website or a casino is scam!

And if we go by the thing that the lottery holder is making money why the majority loses, then, the stock market is a scam, crypto trading is  scam as Binance and Okex make money no matter if you win or lose from your trades, and they don't guarantee you anything either!

All lotteries that only sell but do not draw are lottery scams.  If it is sold or supplied by the government then it is considered a government lottery scam. However, both gambling and lottery are of the same type, so there is a possibility of scamming in both cases.
I participated in a government lottery and the government again took the price of the lottery ticket amounting to five dollars from me but two years ago today the lottery was supposed to be drawn but till now the lottery has not been drawn.  So I don't declare it as Scamming?

In this case yes, of course!
But a certain lottery not being hold in a county doesn't make all of them a scam!
If the guys behind Powerball would keep selling tickets but never hold a draw or never give the price to the winner then it would be a scam and a lot of people would go to jail but that's not the case here.

The guy in the video is talking like every single one of them even those that award prizes are scams, and I don't think this is true, you're gambling, lottery or roulette or slots and their advertised jackpot, there is no difference!

The government has no place in my space. I really do not think they are sincere with their dealings with their citizens. You could imagine them ripping off citizens through tax payment and again setting up a lottery ticket scheme were they have already manipulate the whole process by putting their lackies and cronies to take everything remaining through the setup and cleanup everything for nobody to know what they did.

Yes it would be better, and I am not saying that all lotteries are a scam, but taxes are much bigger scam

You dont have the option to opt out from paying taxes and you dont have any insight how all that money is spent.
In government lotteries situation can be only worse.

Why is it a scam?

Government is already forcing you to pay so many taxes, so why would they need to force you for doing that with lotteries? 
This scheme was invented as their extra passive income and additional voluntary tax.

i have tried the government lottery actually until someone made me realized we're a joke. and that was more than 15 years ago.

so sure i have not bought any tickets for a long time. but i think they are not lying about helping the poor since at least in my country, they actually do help the poor particularly for health services.  still the lottery backed by my government is shrouded by scam. recently there was senate hearing about it due to successive winners.

I know cases with government lotteries made fake winners, and they used special weight to set up numbers they want back when they didnt have computers to make this scam much easier.
So all this government schemes are multi layered scams working on many levels to trick people and take ther money.
They dont need any lotteries or modern sms schemes to help poor and sick people when they are the one printing money 
Only thing they need people for is to create volume and money flow.
