ICON Foundation Announces ‘Strategic Partnership’ with MixMarvel Gaming Platform

Blockchain network ICON announced on Monday that it has entered in a partnership with blockchain based global game publishing company, MixMarvel. The collaboration will allow the latter to connect gaming content creators with players in order to build a blockchain gaming community on the ICON network, which involves purely voluntary participation.

MixMarvel is the world’s first large-scale strategy blockchain game publishing company, with more than 6,000 DAU on-board. It is also working to release its blockchain-based gaming platform MixMarvel Platform, in the second quarter of 2019. MixMarvel is also the owner of blockchain game series like ‘HyperDragons’ and ‘HyperSnakes.’

Jonghyup Kim, Council Member of the ICON Foundation, stated that the combination of virtual gaming and blockchain technology would be the most suitable and casual form for owning and trading tokenized digital assets. He further added that alongside MixMarvel and its large user base, ICON would achieve mass adoption of blockchain tech, providing services that could be easily accessed in real life.

Jade Zhang, CEO of MixMarvel, said,

The transaction processing speed is crucial for developing and operating blockchain games, which will eventually be combined with new technologies such as 3D, VR (Virtual reality), and AR (Augmented Reality). By utilizing high TPS (Transaction Per Second) and developer toolkits of the ICON platform, MixMarvel will support anyone looking to create value from game contents.

Earlier this month, MixMarvel completed the pre-registration for ICON Public Representative (P-Rep) candidature. ICON will offer MixMarvel a number of consulting services, including business planning, technology development, and game publishing through its global accelerating program called ‘ICX Station.’ ICON is the only blockchain project in South Korea which has a global accelerator program.

The blockchain industry is revolutionizing virtual gaming space, and the adoption of the innovative tech is bound to increase substantially in the coming months. DLT solves two major challenges faced by most game developers, namely, hacking and privacy. The sophisticated features like decentralization, transparency, immutability and swift processing allow developers to create secure and privacy-proof games.

MixMarvel will support ICON’s blockchain ecosystem expansion upon three core pillars:

• Integrating its game platform to ICON’s public blockchain network
