Gambling discussion / Re: Haney and Garcia to fight for WBC Junior Welterweight Title On April 20
« Last post by bisdak40 on Today at 03:32:10 AM »There's a big development in the weigh in, Ryan failed to make it weight, he is more than over 3 pounds but both camps agreed to proceed with the fight, so this day Ryan lost twice, he lost $1.6 million to Haney because of the weigh-in bet and he losses his chance to win the title and on fight night he will lose to Haney and that will make it three loses in a row.QuoteAccording to longtime boxing reporter Dan Rafael, the two sides did reach a financial agreement to move ahead with the fight. A Golden Boy spokesperson said that the two reached an agreement and that Garcia would honor the handshake deal made at the press conference.
Ryan Garcia misses weight ahead of fight with Devin Haney, ineligible to win WBC junior welterweight title
And so Ryan disappoint his fans again going above the contractual weight limit of 140 lbs. So he embarrassed himself, not sure if he did it intentionally or what but doesn't look to be very professional. They could have at least try, but things like this shows or reflect how unprofessional his team his.
Haney make it at 140 lbs, although Ryan is willing to pay $1.5 M but there is no belt on the line here as per rule if someone didn't make the weight then the belt is off as well.

Seems to me that there is something wrong with Ryan Garcia, he's a bit off mentally.
Yeah no belt for Garcia if ever he wins, the title will be vacant if Haney loses this fight but i don't think Garcia would win this one. This recent incident only raises eyebrows on the boxing community and think Ryan is unprofessional, he could have achieve that weight if he is serious on this fight.
