The share of Ethereum in the market is gradually decreasing. It may well lose out to EOS and Tron in the competition, as well as other promising altcoins, said multicoin Capital managing partner Kyle Samani.
The expert is sure that Ethereum has been steadily losing its leadership in the market of decentralized application platforms recently. Samani noted that over the past 6-9 months, other projects have appeared that offer similar solutions. This means that Ethereum is no longer unique, and the market expects a long decline in demand for the second-largest cryptocurrency.
Patrick Barile, dappradar's chief operating officer, added that the structure of the decentralized application market (dApps) has undergone significant changes in recent months. So, now only 28% of dApps users choose solutions based on Ethereum. A year ago, the platform created by Vitalik Buterin was considered an absolute monopoly in this segment.
Experts gave unexpected figures: for example, 48% of active users of decentralized applications are on the EOS platform, and another 24% are on Tron. Ethereum now leads only in the total number of dApps: it runs 40% of applications. However, EOS and Tron support 30% of dApps each.
