It’s not even arguable, long term remains the best step. Nowadays, the crypto space has even made it very difficult to focus on short term due to the high level of volatility. I think long or short are profitable.
Short term , you can do day trading.
For long term, maybe you can hold for several years, especially old coins. You will get large profit from those.
BNB, BTC, ETH, ADA, DOT , those are good for hold.
If you have big funds, you can split  in several coins for short and hold.

TBH , I didn't have confidence to hold meme coins such dogecoin and shiva inu.
But I also buy and sell those coins while FOMO.
If we talk about fundamental, those coins are good.
But we should research about their projects.

For Long term ADA and Moonriver has the biggest growth potential. Dot and Kusama is also looking good for long term. Between DOT and KUSAMA I would lean toward DOT because now that it is becoming more fully operational investors will likely lean toward the main net over the test net.
