as I understood , these are types of  cryptocurrency so ,please correct me , if I am wrong

Each crypto coin has been found to solve a problem, but they all in one of the following three categories

Keep in mind that some digital currencies fit for more than one of the following three categories

1-Transaction

Financial transactions
This category has been designed to be used as an alternative money for governments' money and also for using  in buying goods & services

These cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin, lightcoin, .. Etc ..

2-platforms

The second category is the backbone for other cryptocurrencies  to build their coins  and also to build  future applications
This category is designed to eliminate intermediaries in any dealings

These platforms use smart contract (smart contract is a programmer application that works without allowing for fraud or control)

The third category designed to perform a certain purpose with high efficiency and most of them are protocols
