Tim Draper  bought 30,000 bitcoins in 2014, in a government auction of assets seized from Silk Road.
He bought all the seized silk road bitcoins for under $20 million..
The auction was structured into 10 blocks, with the first nine consisting of 3,000 BTC and the last one featuring 2,656.51306529 BTC.

This is a very wise decision. If I knew that soon bitcoin would become so expensive, I would also have bought a lot of coins in 2009.
