It seems that Girona is satisfied with their current ranking. Because for Girona perhaps second or third place is no longer a priority. because they were quite happy with getting tickets to UCL. And maybe next season Girona will fight harder for the title again in Laliga and will fight hard for the UCL.

- go to the final of the Champions League (and there is a risk of winning it)

Drastically difference between Carlo Ancelotti and Xavi Hernandez achievement in this season, Madrid won La Liga tittle and success qualified to Champion League final. Barcelona failed for winning domestic league and eliminated at quarter final in Champion League. But have bit drama between Xavi Hernandez and Barcelona after announcing will leave team at the end this season but finally withdraw his decision and keep becoming Barcelona manager for next season.
La Liga season 2023/24 has few matches left and Barcelona not secure yet their 2nd standings position, actually its bad for Xavi if fail get 2nd place for this season.

Real Madrid is patient enough to build their golden generation for the future, and they have felt that now. I am sure they will do more than this in the future with the capital they currently hold with many highly qualified young players.

Ancelotti did build the foundation for REal Madrid, so when he leaves Real Madrid will be in a very ready state, and their new coach will only have to continue with what Ancelotti has built now.

Real Madrid understands it is very important to build their squad for a long term. That's why they sold their previous star players because they are already not in their prime ages. Real Madrid never doubted to sell Ronaldo, Benzema, Ramos, and other star players. They know it is the way to rebuild the squad with younger players. With the current squad, Real Madrid future will be safe. This squad will last for the next 8 years at least.

Ancelotti always builds the squad with young players. He doesn't only build a winning squad but he is also building a future squad. Well, Girona really wasted the opportunity to get full points from that match. And this will give Barcelona the opportunity to return to second place if they succeed in beating Real Sociedad in Tuesday's match. But it looks like the opponent Barcelona is facing could result in Barcelona only getting a draw. But I believe Xavi's team is still enthusiastic about getting full points.

Another opportunity is missed by Girona in today's match, as they are currently losing their home match against Villarreal. it is 88 minutes of play, and Girona is losing to a 0-1 defeat to Villarreal. It will be a show of shame for the Girona team if they fail to top Barcelona after winning them, and they later go below them instead of topping them for the second spot in the Laliga League table

With these results, it is now clear that Barcelona is likely to end the season in second place and Girona will only be ranked 3rd. Barcelona managed to beat Sociedad and Girona actually lost to Villareal. And Barcelona still has a match that will put them ahead by more points than Girona.

No doubt, Barcelona is finishing the Laliga season in the second position. They are currently having a point above Girona, with an outstanding match against Almeria(the relegation club). If Barcelona wins against Almeria, it becomes a four-point gap against Girona, which seals their second spot position after Real Madrid.
