Nice thread, I really like it. I would like to add some information as well, if you really want to be safe from hackers as a Bitcoin investors then try to open a cold wallet instead of hot wallet or custodian wallet. A cold wallet is much safer options than a hot wallet and custodian wallet is the worst one in the list.

As you can see, this thread is about the scam. Not hacks! Hackers are a different kind of scam where the hacker gets their money even without their permission. But, when it comes to other forms of scams like Ponzi schemes, cloud mining scams, and bitcoin doubler scams, the user sends their funds to scammers with the hope of doubling their money within a short period.

So, they need to know more about how these scams work. Using a cold wallet does not help them understand which one is a scam and which one is not a scam. OP is blaming Bitcoin for such scams. But, he should know that scams are everywhere. Not only in Bitcoin.

Scams are really every where and one needs to be careful more especially the investors because they are always the target of scammers.
Scams work in many ways which you have stated and it takes one who is careful enough to note that and be able to avoid it.

When someone is identified as an investor in a project telegram group,  scammers immediately go change their name to the admin or moderator or even the CEO of the project to start PM with the investor and if they are not careful, they get scammed because they have no idea how to identify scammers on telegram group.

All these are basic knowledge every investor would have to know to avoid being scammed of the funds.

As long as that system has a lot of benefits in them where majority of people are putting in and taking out their money, there will always be scam. Scammers always tried to get money easily, scamming people is the way made by them. I don't know if Bitcoin has many cases of scams. As far as I know, scams are very related to altcoins. Yep. If they are able to convince someone that their project is going to give them a good return, people send them money and get scammed. Scammers work in various ways. Fortunately, I haven't fallen for these scams. I do not believe in online investment, where they will pay me a good return without working. It is obvious that those are just scammers!

But scammers use Bitcoin because of the privacy and anonymity it provides. Not only Bitcoin but other crypto currencies as well. If you talk about telegram, well, it's full of scammers! I always report if I see Private message from unknown people.

Bitcoin doublers have been very popular since I started to learn cryptocurrency way back in 2017. I've been hearing this, especially on popular social media platforms. There was a time as well when popular YouTube channels were getting hacked, and they would post a live video on that channel of some interview coming from a popular person, but behind that, it says "If you deposit X amount of crypto here, it will double in just a few minutes." which is impossible if you will add common sense if you hear it for the first time.

Anyway, Bitcoin has given us another opportunity to earn even if we are at home only. Bitcoin has given us another option which we can invest our money with. On the other hand, though, Bitcoin is being used as a tool by these scammers, and they are using it to scam newbies. In a world where nobody cares if you get scammed, let's always be vigilant, and aware of what we are doing. If possible, double or triple the website you're visiting, and equip yourself with knowledge, and know which are scam, and which are not.

It's best for you to know what website to make investment if a website scammed you that doesn't mean that bitcoin scammed you, and with what I am seeing you are giving bitcoin a bad misrepresentation and impression. The most important thing is for you to know the website and again you are also being the one who is falling into scam due to your greed nature, why would a site promised to pay you some specific amount as a return of investment and you went ahead to invest thinking you would gain back such amount. Don't you think that everyone I mean the scammers always wants the easiest way to steal your bitcoin from you? So, you have to be very careful with any website to go invest your precious bitcoin.

Bitcoin is never a scam asset to the world, rather it brought financial stability to the world, and the bad ones(scammers), choose to use the advantage it brought(financial freedom) to dirt its image to be so(scam) while it is not meant to be so.

Because of the awareness of bitcoin being spread, people are beginning to learn how to secure their investment in bitcoin and how not to fall victims to scams. People have known that bitcoin is not a scam, just that scammers are using it as a means to dupe people who lacks basic knowledge of it.

Its an old busted up method on which if we do speak about doublers and those hyips but surprisingly on which there are really that still those people who are really that being victimized with these scams. Many altcoins cheat, including the devs themselves, they come out and withdraw the liquidity in the dex and take the money away, in altcoins it is still rampant so we will not see where there is no fraud, it will always be there.

People don't always understand the meaning of bitcoin, let say for instance you can talk about GUN how it is very dangerous and killing people without knowing only gun alone doesn't kill person what we must know is the people kills people gun don't kill anybody except it's being used by someone to execute the killing process. Such is bitcoin, it doesn't scam any person but when people began to used it the other way round then we can say people uses to scam their fellows.

Yeah fraud often happens wherever we are, as you have said, as long as there is an opportunity to get money there will be an opportunity to commit theft, this fraud is also a risk for those who have cryptocurrency.

Yes, you're right in that respect. But with the fact that fraud will continue to flourish - there will be articles + recommendations on how to avoid such situations. + If your stay in the market (more than 3-4 years), I think you have minimal knowledge in this regard. Basically, everything is as it was before. Where there are (not bad sources of income), there will be those who will try to impose scam schemes to earn money and so on.

I think giving the meaning of Bitcoin to weapons is of course very different. The main purpose of Bitcoin's creation is to create a digital currency whose circulation cannot be controlled by anyone and become a digital currency that replaces the fiat system. Meanwhile, the main purpose of weapons is to kill, as long as In my life there are no weapons that are used for accessories or to replace fiat currency, so maybe you should try to find another definition that has almost the same purpose.

Be careful when investing, there are also many scams in crypto. and usually beginners will become targets for scammers to deceive. When I first started investing, I was also exposed to a scam, but I used that as an experience and made me more careful.

When it comes to telegram, that is the central of scammers. They send pm unnecessarily and if you are not careful, they might get at you so easily and people that easily fall for them are newbies who have no idea how the system works. They send phishing link to their targets to click on them and once they ignorantly do that,  the gain access to their devices and begin stealing of their details and information to undo them.

When it comes to investment, I do my due diligence because that is what guides me to knowing and having information about the project I want to invest my funds into. As an investor, there are some basic knowledge you have to know about what ever project you want to put your funds into. From your due diligence, you could decipher if such project is genuine or scam so as not to lose your funds.

Maybe it's just an analogy from a project that has the world busy discussing it, just a choice of words that you might think is inappropriate because you think weapons are murderers, some people think weapons are tools. so the differences will always be there. For me, Bitcoin is a digital advancement that can be used as a replacement currency for fiat money in the future.
