New format?
I'm still a little confused with this new format. This means that the 5th position that will eventually enter the UEFA Europe League will enter the UCL qualifiers in the next season with this new format, right?
If that's the case, it means that Man United should still have a chance, at least they have to fight harder so that they can take over Tottenham's position first. Yes, although this may require more efforts because the distance is 6 points between the two. So, extra efforts are needed for Man United to take over.
I don't know if it is possible to have 5 teams from one league in UCL. EPL is the best league in the world, they will dominate UCL with 5 teams there. So how about the team from Germany league? Will they still have 4 teams for the next season in UCL?
Well, it will be interesting for Tottenham and Man United. They will fight for the spot of 5th in EP standings. Not sure which team to be in the 5th place but Tottenham looks to have a higher chance, they are in 5th place now.
Please open this link and check the country rankings in the 2023/2024 season, we will see
https://www.uefa.com/nationalassociations/uefarankings/country/#/yr/2024Italy 17.714 points
Germany 16.357 points
England 16.250 points
The 2 countries with the highest points will get 1 additional spot for the Champions League next season.
These points are awarded to any club that win (2 points) or draw (1 point) in all Champions League, Europa League and Europa Conference League matches.
And there are also bonus points from each club participation in each phase/round of the Champions League, Europa League and Europa Conference League.
England currently still has 5 representatives in the European Competitions, while Italy has 4 and Germany 3.
Because of that, England chances are slightly better than Germany.
Germany opportunity to get additional spots is still big, as long as the 3 German clubs successfully advance to the next round.
