The world of traditional finance is feeling outdated. We’re seeing crypto holders increase their investments way beyond the point banking could. Yield Farming alone is accomplishing much of this. It offers a new way for crypto holders to make money on their existing investments.
What is Yield Farming?
Yield farming is similar to a concept in traditional banking — that of lending money. In the world of fiat, banks use funds held in savings accounts to lend out to borrowers. Those borrowers pay back loans with interest, and some of that interest rate carries over to the lenders.
However, banks take up the majority of the return, which is unfair considering lenders are the fund-providers, here. This is where yield farming comes into play.
Yield farming takes the lending and borrowing concept and decentralizes it, hence the decentralized finance (DeFi) moniker the term falls under. Platforms and protocols take the place of banks. They are, however, autonomously run. There’s no middle-man taking a massive cut of the fees, meaning lenders get significantly more from their contributions.
Lenders receive interest in the form of a platform’s token. By using the platform, that token’s value should go up in value and increase a lender’s overall yield. The concept is still in its early stages, but many protocols are already harnessing yield farming to great effect. Let’s look at a few.
Free TON
On June 29th, Free TON began its first yield farming program on its TON Swap decentralized exchange powered by Broxus, a laboratory for blockchain solutions and a member of the Free TON DeFi. In just four hours after its launch, the network saw a total locked value (TLV) of $20 million. It has also launched with various liquidity pairs with its own token, WTON, and assets like Tether (USDT), Wrapped Bitcoin (WBTC), and the USDC stablecoin. The program is going to be held for two years.
The platform plans to commit $1 billion in liquidity by year’s end, hoping to bring in other DeFi protocols to expand its offerings. TON is also targeting liquidity from the Ethereum 1.0 network before it moves to 2.0. Rewards will be released within two months of the platform’s launch.
Otherwise, lenders can create pools with any two of the supported trading pairs. What’s neat, though, is the platform’s “relic” system. If your wallet holds outdated versions of tokens, TON will notify you and even offer to upgrade them. This ensures you’re constantly using the latest and greatest tokens every time you connect to the platform.
Finally, the Free TON DeFi Alliance has partnered with the FRAX and STASIS protocols, the former of which has a trading pair. The partners are intent on bringing TON’s dynamic sharding technology and other benefits to the rest of the world, providing scalable and cheap digital currencies.
Aave
Lending and borrowing cryptocurrencies on Aave provides users with staked Aave (stkAAVE) — an asset equal in value to the traditional AAVE governance token. This yield farming program is only a few months old. Presently, users are testing the platform. It works on top of the platform’s already existing liquidity-providing solution. Lenders use it to earn by simply staking assets.
As of this writing, Aave users will earn an average of 2.46% APR for lending USDT, for example. Borrowers, however, will pay a rate of 2.93% APR on the same asset. These rates will fluctuate based on the crypto market’s performance.
The platform’s goal with this new program is to bring liquidity from Aave v1 to v2, as much is still trapped in the original platform. Come July 15, users can vote to keep the yield farming platform alive on the protocol or to not move forward with the project.
Compound
Compound is one of the first platforms to offer yield farming. Lenders earn cTokens equal to their stake, essentially Compound versions of whatever token they choose. These providers also earn the protocol’s COMP token for their contributions, which doubles as a governance token as well.
The platform offers various trading pairs like the DAI stablecoin, Ether (ETH), and ChainLink (LINK). As of this writing, annual percentage rates range from 0.15% to 2.5%, depending on the token.
COMP is a capped token with only 10 million due for supply. Around 3/4 of those tokens will cover governance. The rest will go to the #DevelopmentTeam .Read more...

At the 61 community MeetUp, extremely unpleasant news was announced: our partners stole approximately 128.000 TON Crystal from the Free TON wallet.
What was the initial proposal of the partners?
A partnership proposal with Merkletree.capital was made in November 2020. Merkletree.capital is a cryptocurrency hedge fund whose activities take place in the field of cross-border cryptocurrency payments services on the African continent.
According to the proposal, the fund was supposed to create a storage solution, a wallet with an exchange function and a payment platform for TON Crystal. It is important to note once again that Merkletree.capital's activities are focused on the African market.
The reaction of the community was mixed, some users called the proposal dubious, but the proposal was not without support. In the end, the proposal was approved.
What happened in the end?
The partnership did not produce any results. Representatives of the fund said that it took a lot of time to implement their proposal. They made a large number of promises, and in the end they stopped communicating with the community when the tokens were already in their hands.

Проект Blockchain-технологии по-прежнему является UX-проектом.
При разработке пользовательского интерфейса (UX) создаются продукты, предлагающие значимый и персонализированный опыт. Основное внимание уделяется дизайну, простоте использования продукта и положительными эмоциями от этого.
Мы можем помочь упростить блокчейн до тех пор, пока он не станет ясным и прозрачным. Стоит понимать, — это не произойдет в одночасье. Ноутбуки и сети вай-фай стали повсеместными, когда, благодаря хорошему дизайну, — сложности технологий стали настолько абстрактными, что люди наконец смогли увидеть истинную ценность данных продуктов. Поговорим о типах TIP. TIP направлен на улучшение технических аспектов проекта Free TON. Расшифровка аббревиатуры TIP - TON Improve Proposals. TIP-ы описывают стандарты для блокчейна, смарт-контрактов, а также описывают интерфейсы и протоколы. Все, что сообщество считает улучшением, может входить в TIP.
Предложение о создании TIP было выдвинуто пользователем Mitja 17 мая 2020 года, где помимо идеи были описаны требования к разработчикам TIP. Например, любое предложение TIP обязано иметь в себе обоснование технической проблемы и описание стандарта, а также мотивацию для создания TIP.
Какие же TIP существуют на данный момент?
TIP-2
Система децентрализованных сертификатов необходима в некоторых случаях, поэтому возникла потребность в создании TIP-2. По сути, данная система позволяет использовать услуги, в которых требуется сертифицированное хранилище ключей и их значений: децентрализованная служба имен (DeNS), сертификат подтверждения владения или покупки и т.д.
Дизайн TIP-2 основан в больше степени на архитектуре TIP-3, но с некоторыми изменениями.
TIP-3
Протокол TIP-3 позволяет работать со смарт-контрактами, это стандартный интерфейс, позволяющий внедрять взаимозаменяемые и не взаимозаменяемые токены в блокчейн в рамках смарт-контрактов.
TIP-3 полностью распределен и подразумевает отдельное хранение баланса каждого пользователя.
TIP-4
Схема вознаграждения для разработчиков смарт-контрактов. На проведённые с помощью продукта транзакции накладывается монетизация, которая позволяет разработчику продукта получать прибыль.
TIP-21
Сертификат, позволяющий преобразовывать обратно имена смарт-контрактов из других смарт-контрактов.
TIP-31

Несмотря на то, что с технической точки зрения Free TON децентрализован, управление в блокчейне до сих пор носит централизованный характер. За выделение токенов из гиверов голосуют представители 23 компании, запустивших сеть. На смену этой парадигме приходит Governance 2.0 – система управления блокчейном, при которой голосовать может каждый участник c токенами сети.
Согласно дорожной карте система голосования будет готова в ноябре 2021 года. Особенностью системы в том, что для голосования не нужно выводить монеты из депула и прекращать получать доход за стейкинг.
Как это реализуется
Фактически голосование будет происходить не TON Crystals, а специальными токенами для голосования. Желающие проголосовать будут оставлять в залог свои кристаллы и получать специальные токены. Именно благодаря отдельным токенам для голосования возможно одновременно и стейкать и голосовать. В контракте DePool есть реестр, в котором записано количество монет и их владелец. Благодаря этому реестру при обращении к DePool владельцу будут выдаваться токены для голосования под залог TON Crystals, находящихся в DePool.
Governance 2.0 важный элемент децентрализации. Если решение окажется неверным с точки зрения сообщества, то винить в этом можно только самих себя, ведь каждый проголосовавший (и не проголосовавший) несет ответственность за конечный результат. Читать далее...
