As we have seen, ETH price has hovered around the $200 threshold since mid-2019. The COVID-19 pandemic or BTC halving does not impact too much on ETH price. I am wondering between keeping ETH in my wallet or using ETH to participate in some potential ICO/ERC-20 tokens.
ETH 2.0 is coming. Will projects on the Ethereum platform have a lot of changes after this major update? Are they technically outdated? What should I do: hold, invest now or continue waiting for the arrival of ETH 2.0?

They are not technically outdate and they will follow what ethereum does. It will not give any changes to the projects that used ethereum platform as tokenization consider the update was on the mechanism of consensus that being migrated from POW to the POS.
I have invested in several altcoins (ERC20) and got a nice profit from there. You should at least spend a small percentage from your amount to invest in the trusted ERC20 project.
There was no ETA when ethereum 2.0 will come for sure and isn't it better to generate the profit from the market at the same time?

Holding ETH will be aways better than holding tokens since all tokens are powered by the eth blockchain, it means that no one of then will surpass the owner of the blockchain.

I think holding ETH is the better option since like you said, ETH 2.0 is being hyped. It's not to mention the fact that most of ERC-20 tokens are worhtless. It's so so difficult to find a decent project nowadays. However, if you have a thick budget, you can try with ERC-20 tokens. A couple of ETHs on some less-known tokens may bring you 5x or even 10x profit, or otherwise, you just lose "a couple of ETHs".

I prefer to hold some of the ETH and the rest I use to buy tokens or participate to buy ICO tokens that I think has the potential. Ethereum is very good this year and will increase.

Top exchange IEOs are profitable than ethereum holding hereby we can earn good profits in short term but right now I don't believe erc20 ICOs I think this not good time to invest in Icos instead of ethereum holding is best option .

Because there are several suggestions right here in the forum but different cirumstances.
For example, someone hodling etherum since 2008 will definitely hold happily, and urge you to also hodl, while someone with hodlership since 2018, might have same opinions.

Do you really think you can find a serious ICO project nowadays? The fact is, most of ICO projects at the time being are scams. If there is some serious ones, you may need a ton of luck and effort to find them out. My choice is to hold the ETH and wait for the 2.0 update.

Do you really think you can find a serious ICO project nowadays? The fact is, most of ICO projects at the time being are scams. If there is some serious ones, you may need a ton of luck and effort to find them out. My choice is to hold the ETH and wait for the 2.0 update.
I always understand that investing in an ICO project is a risky decision, especially at the moment there is a new wave of fraud in the market. However, with monitoring community activities + reviews from reputable websites & crypto experts, I think we can still pick a few really potential projects.

I considered investing in ICOs because the price of ETH has stalled between the $200-300 price range for months now, meaning the profitability is no more than 50%, while with an ICO, we have potential chance to x5-x10 the invesment :)

If you are holding shit coins, you may sell it either in few losses or instant losses. Shitcoins have no future, they will ran away or coins will be delisted and your investment will be vanished. If you invest in a good coin, which team is already familiar and project establised, this coin will pump in future. In the cheaper rate, it can be purchased to reduce purchase costs. Until arrival of ETH 2.0 you should hold ETH or investment or trade. Because if massive men think like you market will fall down again. So please don't do this kind of work. And why you thinking they are outdated!! As they are still controlling market. When changes will happen our adoption will also happen. no tens instant now.

We can invest in Erc20 tokens, but don't rush to buy them. I do not recommend to participate in the ICO, too risky. From 2019 to now not many successful projects. You have Ethereum and it is better to be held for a long time. I think this not good time to invest in ICOs because ICOs market is totally damaged although many successful erc20 tokens projects are coming by the IEO so top exchange IEOs are best than ICOs otherwise just hold your ethereum .

Investment is always for the future it is a matter of choice weather to invest or not depending on what you are looking at the moment , if one begins to analyze the situation on grand I don't think anybody should even invest in any project currently because of fear and doubt, basically for this periode of pandemics.

Holding Ethereum is better than holding or investing Erc20 tokens. Investing in Ethereum has more surity to recovery profits but some Erc20 tokens have no possibility to recover its investment price. Some shitcoin never appear in bull run.

Personal chose to hold eth because soon the team will launch ETh 2.0 and that is a gread upgrade, transition will be very fast and the time between phases will be short,introducing Sharding for improve Ethereum’s efficiency and ability to scale ,staking program etc.the future for ETh look nice.

This is totally depends on what's goal you set . I mean I was purchased Etherium is on $150 , I just want to hold Etherium till it's price didn't touch $1K USD . I sure Etherium easily got it before end of 2023 .

Everyday many ethereum based projects coming in cryptomarket but all projects are not worth to invest many projects totally waste and many projects fail in almost final stages. If you found profitable new projects just invest on it because still many best new projects are running in cryptomarket , if you couldn't find best one just hold your ethereum for 2.0 that is profitable.

I have notice also that there has been crypto projects right now trying to beat the Ethereum network. One example is Quark Chain, they have launched mainnet a year ago already and they have lower transaction fees.

Actually you are right. Ive noticed that eth holding will grow if you are trading it with good altcoins. Ive noticed the hype on defi projects are now giving off a lot of profits. I think this will be a good opportunity to make some real cash by trading erc20 tokens. I like eth but I will used its purpose for greater good.

Nevertheless, Quark Chain cannot overthrown Ethereum due to massive integration of Eth over cryptocurrency ecosystem. Knowing Eth fees too high, none like Ethereum.

I agree with you that it is very risky with new projects that are entering the market or not, because many doubt that and we cannot avoid the fact that many are very sorry or disappointed that even if they enter the market the price is very disappointing. So it's better to stick to ethereum or the top-ranked altcoin which still ranks among at Coingecko. then you will avoid at least a big loss even if you analyze it wrong, but it is highly believed that bitcoin will grow so all existing altcoins will also move up.

i love to do trading using ethereum coin on big exhanges. I think its move profitable to do trading and swapping coins rather that holding it and just sleeping in the wallet and waiting for uncertain moment that it double or triple the price. trading is risky but if you are use to it. then the risk is reduce and you could gain money from it.

Ethereum is always one of the best choice to invest for long term. Time to buy now while the price is $381. Eth all time high is so good and seems not real because this coin hit the $1,432 per coin went back to January 2018.

I feel you! that is also.my sentiment! I was to use uniswap paltform to buy etc token but upon seeing the gas fee! wow it is really incredibly high. how could it be possible that the fee is as high as .02eth. wow! that really big.

Why should convert ETH to the other ERC20 altcoins? I personally will choose to hold ETH because it is much worthier than other altcoins. However, if we have other free money, I think it is not bad if we will look for other trusted and worthy altcoins in order to add to our portfolio.
