Title: How long do you plan to hodl Bitcoin for?
Post by: dragononcrypto on November 27, 2020, 10:16:33 AM
Personally I'm holding 90-95%, trading altcoins with anywhere between 5-10%. I'm not planning on selling anytime soon, but will inevitably want to sell some if/when price goes 5-10x from here. Then happily spend another few years accumulating again in a bear market at (ideally) lower prices.

Will you hodl all your Bitcoin through the next bear market when it comes, or sell some for profit when price eventually goes parabolic?

Great plan just like whales. Going to sell when btc will hit $300k and hopefully to catch that in 2021 as greed is on top. Just chilling with recent correction to buy more.  ;D

Will you hodl all your Bitcoin through the next bear market when it comes, or sell some for profit when price eventually goes parabolic?

Just like previous bull market, i'll sell to collect small amount of profits so that i can re-entry at bottom on bear market. Currently having this plan on my mind.

I have a lot of attraction, greed and attention towards bitcoin. I bought Bitcoin in 2019, so far I have not sold Bitcoin in the hope of making a profit. I hold on to everything. I wanted to benefit. I, like you, wait for the big bull run to come. In 2021, the price of Bitcoin will be at its peak. Brother hope something good, get something, didn’t start selling.

mate, you are one of the very lucky ones that have prepared yourself with bitcoin even though it may take patience and are not interested in selling it immediately.
because you understand and already know correctly that the sharp increase is not this year but there will be next year.

the job of waiting and preparing that you do will not be in vain because it will get what you desire that bitcoin will reach its peak and the time is right to sell. make the long wait results relieved because of the maximum results obtained.

Actually, I will have it for three ways of having Bitcoin.
1. Daily trading
2. SHort term - in this way, I focus on buying BTC when the price is dropped and sell them when I have the target of the profits to take, commonly it will last for several days or weeks or months depending on the price increase.
3. Long term -> it is kind of holding BTC at lest until the price will surpass the previous ATH

It will depend on the market value .if anyone buy BTC and then price pump with in 15 to 30 days then not to late for sell for these btc .when market value stay in green no late to sell btc and that will be the great opportunity to get profit from btc .

I will preview until the end of the year or at least over the $ 25k price tag. If it does, then there is a possibility that I will sell. Then it will wait for the price to fall to be able to buy back.

Bitcoin holdings, trading and investing depends on market situations and coinditions , if bitcoin market available and worthy to invest then should invest in, when market pumped more than Your investment price then You should sell a partial amounts.

Bitcoin price in 2017 was almost $20k and at that time I had a lot of profit because I bought Bitcoin in 2016.
At first I had doubts but after that I bought back bitcoin when the price was below $10k in 2019, what I was looking forward to was the new ATH achievement, then I would sell it and buy Bitcoin at a low price just like I did the previous year.

if I think looking at the market price, when the price goes down I still hold on and wait until the price goes up and get a profit, so here I can't keep up with the time. If I think we have to follow the market price, not how long to store bitcoins?  If the rich question is not quite right, that is in my opinion.

Investing in Bitcoin should be long term. Long-term investment plan Bitcoin is one of the best coins. Although I currently have no bitcoin. If I had any bitcoins, I would make long-term investment plans. Bitcoin users will benefit a lot more. So I think it's much better to hold bitcoin

I believe in Bitcoin. I can make it as long term in my life and also short term. of course, it is at least 5 years long term investment. But I will also check the market updates. if there is any chance to sell them for big profits, I will consider selling it but not all in, only maximum in 50%

I will still hold on to this Bitcoin until the price hits around $ 30k. however, if I really need funds, then I will sell Bitcoin. I think I can hold Bitcoin for a long time if I don't need funds. because the longer Bitcoin the price continues to increase.

The chance to hold bitcoin percentage for myself is 50:50 where when I experience a bull market I sell it for a return on capital and I hold on to some of it to get more profit. And if there is a very urgent need and need funds then I will be forced to sell Bitcoin with very little left

something very wise what you will do because we know that bitcoin is currently unpredictable, so the end of the year prices can also stay at $ 16K. but if you want to keep doing to hold bitcoins until you can reach $ 30K, that is very desirable.

of course not this year it will happen but next year. It is also difficult to predict to know what month ATH can occur.
have to convince yourself because we will not know from what month bitcoin will increase sharply. Do not be tempted to sell it because you believe it will happen and if you sell, you will be just a listener, not a beneficiary.

No one can predict what date bitcoin will touch ATH, as you know analysis is not a way to help traders determine prices but a way to anticipate, without analysis traders will gamble because they don't have a plan, just like bitcoin prices always go up and down with fast, without a plan you will lose the funds you have.

How long do you plan to hold bitcoin. For now, I think two or three months are the best way to hold bitcoin. Because bitcoin is going strong now. When bitcoin dumping again as such as 2018, maybe two years we can hold bitcoin.

It is better to hold bitcoin but not for too long and keep it for a certain period of time many times the price of currencies comes down a lot when it comes to making more profit in  that case the traders suffer a lot. Therefore is a possibility that the price of bitcoin will increase at the beginning of the new year in which case it will have to be sold for three to four months.

At the moment, I'm waiting for the bitcoin price to reach at least 20k$ and then I will fix the profit, and then I will wait for the bitcoin price correction again to invest in bitcoin again and then I will also wait for a new pump of the bitcoin price and so I will repeat the process constantly as I did before.

Actually holding times depends on completely market dumping and pumping situations because an investor can't trade/ orders sell his coins lower than his investment price. So he would wait untill the market pumped . When he would get his price he would sell his coins .

Really good question and meaningful topic by you senator.
I don't hold Bitcoin now but I voted "through bull run, then sell most." Bull run has an end, then will crash. When crash I can buy btc again.
The normal principle applicable to btc and altcoins: buy when low, sell when high.

It's interesting to see most people vote for sell some or most, as opposed to hodl hodl hodl. I guess this is the difference between Bitcoin maximalists who claim to mainly hodl indefinitely, compared to altcoiners who will sell their Bitcoin at a good profit. I guess altcoiners also get burnt pretty bad so kinda makes sense  :P

I also agree with the same sentiment, whether it be btc or alts, buy red sell green  :)

I will keep my Bitcoin till the bullrun, then I prefer to sell most of my Bitcoin when the bullrun comes. I think it is better to sell most of the Bitcoin or even sell all of the Bitcoin in the bullrun. Then, I will buy it again when the price is decreasing or in the next bearish season. We will have a chance to buy again at a lower price in the next bearish season. So, don't force ourselves to keep all the Bitcoin forever and never try selling.

I invested in BTC from 2014 year ago. I have a target of selling BTC if I already have a profit of 2x the price I bought.
From 2014 I held my BTC until 2017. And finally in 2017 BTC the price went up to the top and I sold all my coin.
After that I waited again until the BTC price went down. In 2018 BTC experienced a very rapid decline in price and I bought 2BTC.
After that I held it for 3 years and in 2020 BTC went up in price. After that I sold all my coin.

Conclusion: Buy a low price sell a high price.

I'm not the kind of person who likes to hold Bitcoin for a long time, but I prefer to buy and sell where I will get faster profits. So when the price goes up high, that's when I will sell coins, and I will wait for the price to go down to buy them again.

Now, my plan is to hold my Bitcoin until the Bullrun. Because the Bitcoin already passed the ATH, I have sold most of my Bitcoins today. In Binance, the price of Bitcoin can reach $20,000. Actually, I don't sell at that rate, I have sold my Bitcoin at $19,500. I think it is enough because I calculate the profits well enough. I don't want to force selling at a very high rate, because it is very risky. The price can drop suddenly, bro.

The right decision, you don't need to rush to sell bitcoin, because if the price of bitcoin is able to break the $ 20000 resistance area then the price will go up even higher,
but be careful and alert, because if the resistance area fails the bitcoin price will fall very deeply because the chart position will become "Doble Top".

If we want to hold a coin, we must take a rickshaw.  If that was the case then everyone would have benefited by holding.  Many times it is understood by knowing about the future of those coins.

Everyone will pick the same, Bitcoin is worthy for all time investment and trading. But, it is only the mater of time, and also how you can manage it. For me personally, I take Bitcoin for short terma and also long-term investmnet. It is like what we can take profits from it and buy and sell them for profits in certain short term. But, elast, I hold it for long term ivestment.

Nice chart, you and your tradingview account should post more in speculation if you ask me  ;)

Personally I stopped believed in double tops, triple tops, quadruple tops and "constantly banging at resistance" tops. I'm part of the other school of thought that believes that the more you test resistance or support, the more likely you are to break it. It's only bearish if you fail to make a higher low.

I agree with the neck-line theory however, it's very relevant, but more so as it's a break of a trading range, rather than the fact the double top in itself is bearish. That said, the double top was a rejection from new ATH prices, therefore, it actually looks quite bearish right now  :P

If it is about long term investment, I will think of 4-5 years investment and hold. But if it is about short term investment, it will be periodic to know when the bear market and when bull market. So, it is important to analyze when the right time to buy and sell BTC as well.

Bitcoin is one of the coins for long term planning. However, the people who will invest in Bitcoin must be very wealthy. Because if you are not rich, you will not be able to succeed in long term investment. So I think the investor needs to be wealthy, because to be profitable you need to plan long term.

When the price of bitcoin exceeds 30k, I think if someone has a large amount of bitcoin, I would say sell half of it.  I have noticed a lot in amicryptocurrency and I have seen a lot of them cost around fifteen to twenty dollars they have converted from 400 to 500 dollars overnight.  Again I saw that there were some coins which were around  500 to 600 dollarsand their price suddenly dropped to 50 to 60 dollars.  So I would say that if there is some profit without expecting more profit, they should be sold.

This is a nice target, also my conservative target as well as logarithmic growth (depending on when this price is reached). I also think it could go higher to $200-250K, but I'd otherwise be happy with starting to cash out small arounds when we reach 6 figures, as it'd be possible to return to sub $50K after that.

obviously I really agree with the opinion of our friends about bitcoin which is a long-term investment and everyone has known this for a long time. But in the past few months this myth was debunked because bitcoin was making a sensation with short-term investing. because bitcoin makes price changes very quickly and unpredictably and this is out of the ordinary so far.

agree that bitcoin has been known as a very popular currency so that many investors are very interested in preparing funds for the purchase of bitcoin. Moreover, bitcoin always makes it easy for transactions without boundaries of area and circumstances, making transactions easy.

Please keep in mind that currently bitcoin is being targeted because it is estimated that next year a renewable ATH from bitcoin will be created and of course very much awaited for those who have held bitcoin for quite a long time. and there are still other opportunities to change altcoin to bitcoin.

Interesting to see less than 10% of users here will hodl bitcoin through the bear market. I feel like if this poll was on a bitcoin orientated forum this would be nearer 30-50% or something. Instead 75% are planning to sell a bit to most it, which is also my plan, but I expected this % to be much lower to be honest.

Part of me thinks that some expect an altcoin to eventually surpass Bitcoin, such as Ethereum, and therefore selling most of BTC may become necessary at some point in the future. Wild speculation I know, but if you're a Bitcoin maximalist and hodler than you generally have no reason to ever sell any.

Of course most have done actions that should be appreciated but is it true that they actually own the bitcoin, because this is just a poll of what they would do if they had it.
it is clear why some will sell it because we know most of it clearly costs money for daily life which is getting more difficult because of the pandemic which also does not end. It has been almost a year and it is clear that many have lost their jobs and selling is also difficult, only those who have large capital can still survive.

This is certainly strange as it may seem, in fact we have to admit that it is very imposing and unlikely that altcoins will surpass bitcoin. all because they saw the last year when bitcoin increased many were not happy about not getting anything. because they hope that the altcoins can reach ATH which will be able to excite the bounty and at least their deposits which are on average altcoins can be valuable especially with the old altcoins.
