Author/Publisher DC Comics, a division of Warner Bros., which is a subsidiary of Time Warner, is upset that artists are using its intellectual property (IP) in the form of non-fungible tokens (NFTs), and has stated that it has its own character plans.

Jay Kogan, DC Comics' senior VP of legal affairs, stressed in a letter sent to freelancers working by the company on Thursday that selling digital images featuring DC's IP with or without NFTs is against company policy.

DC Comics, according to Kogan, has its own intentions to penetrate the NFT market and is currently looking into it.

According to Gizmodo, former DC Comics artist Jose Delgo, who is known for his Wonder Woman drawings, has made $1.95 million by selling NFTs featuring the superhero and other licensed characters.

This is quite expected since content producers big and small are right now looking at how they can make big money with the rise of NFT. I am sure that other studios can be spewing their warnings as well as they all want to protect their intellectual property to the max. DC Comics and its peers will be taking advantage of NFT and make as much money as they can since they know they have a good following everywhere.
