Title: Please help me understand Blockchain Consensus
Post by: notfairchild on March 28, 2021, 01:11:16 PM
Watched many videos, read articles and yet I can't understand blockchain.

How transaction takes place?
Why there is there even a math quiz or problem attached, that miners need to solve to be able to verify a transaction?
What makes it "Proof of work"?
Why can't anybody hack it?

Please help me understand. These are the questions that I'm not able to understand. I feel like understanding the answer of any of the questions above can help me understand the whole concept.

Mate it may take hours for anyone to explain and answer your questions. Instead, DYOR and google it. You will find out excellent articles and youtube videos on those questions.

@notfairchild as @fallenangel1789 has told you that could take hours. There are hundreds or thousands of examples and tutorials on the web that can help you in a more basic way to understand how the blockchain works. You can use the title of this thread as search criteria and you will be able to see them. The most basic I have found is this: https://blockgeeks.com/guides/blockchain-consensus/

Read everything you can and don't be in a hurry. DYOR.

Thanks for link, that's a very nice arcticle.
So guys, I have found answer of my 1 of my question "why theres a mathematical question to be solved to be able to valid the transaction"
It's goes like this" because long chains are always trusted for transactions, a mathematical puzzle needs to be solved ( which should take time ) so no one can create fake blocks quickly alone by himself quickly which then may outrun the legit blocks.

Correct me if I'm wrong or missing something here, I'm reading more to find out about other question's answers.
