General Discussion / Re: Cryptocurrency Changing My Life
« on: March 01, 2021, 10:07:28 PM »
Congratulations mate. Cryptocurrency has changed the lives of many people for better, although we have some who don't understand the concept and technology, regretting jumping on the bandwagon. Patience pays.

Coingecko has become my favorite crypto price search site since I got to know about it. It's easy to use for me and very user friendly. I have not tried this feature before but I always visit their DeFi section to see how DeFi projects perform.

I believe CG also drives crazy traffic now cos the website sometimes is offline due to load.

Cryptocurrency discussions / Re: Dego or Juld Worth to hold?
« on: February 21, 2021, 11:30:43 PM »
I have some DEGO; I regret selling some for peanuts last month. The token has a very promising future with active developers. Its approach to defi and NFT in a single ecosystem is cool. Juld is a token that has oerfoamazing run in recent days, and I missed out of it cos I didn't really read about the project. I thought it was all these PnD projects. But considering the run up the token has done, I don't really believe it would do another ×100 soon.

AVAX is a highly promising blockchain that can help solve many of the recurring problems in old generation blockchains. However, it needs to stand the test of time and gain serious adoption to be sure that it can perform well when Bitcoin--or ETH-like traffic passes through it.

ETh is something worthy and ETH miners may now be in dilemma,
Moreover, we know how currently many people feel disappointed with Ethereum where gas fees are very high. So now it seems that it is no longer token-friendly. Maybe Etheruem will be soon replaced by the BNB chain and also other types of projects if they still are like this.

No doubt many projects are considering alternative chains like Binance Smart Chain, Polkadot, etc but Ethereum enjoys a first mover advantage plus the biggest community of developers, arguably. It never envisaged such a high magnitude of traffic, so it needs to scale.

I just hope that the new upgrade will bring the needed changes as ETH 2.0 transits to PoS.

Cryptocurrency discussions / Re: Is the cashless society nearing?
« on: February 19, 2021, 11:51:17 PM »
Cryptocurrencies can help countries go cashless but there are some issues that have to be sorted out. Which crypto would be solely accepted as payment for transactions (don't forget that we have thousands of cryptocurrencies). Even the high fees on Bitcoin and Ethereum blockchains are another limiting factor that can deter wide adoption of crypto.

Cryptocurrency discussions / Re: Nigeria crypto ban
« on: February 19, 2021, 11:46:44 PM »
This ban is not well thought out before action was taken. It was not quite long that SEC announced that it wanted to chart out a crypto regulation in the country. Cryptocurrencies shouldn't be given a bad name just because a few bad elements use the avenue to perpetrate illegal things. More even happens under the nose of the government through banks.

However, one can still buy and sell crypto via the peer-to-peer market on trusted platforms. It's that simple.

The introduction and launch of Diem is a welcome development for the crypto industry, especially coming from a giant company. My only concern is the level of centralization and censorship that may come with such a crypto project.

This does not sound good for blockchain, being touted as immutable. Does it mean Verge blockchain isn't immutable? That's surprising to hear.

A news like this will definitely cast aspersions on the blockchain industry generally because it's not supposed to happen in the first place unless the network is not as decentralized as posited in the first place, and the block are not ordered as a long chain.

Bitcoin has seen increased adoption in recent times with more support from traditional investors and institutions. Many analysts believe that reduced Bitcoin dominance means more expansion and growth for altcoins but what do you think will happen if the bear market hits?

Will it still reduce because BTC mostly have high dominance during this period?

There's been a big spike in the amount of funds transferred and traded on exchanges, no thanks to the bull season. Even some DEXs have crossed the billion mark, apart from Uniswap and Sushiswap, Pancakeswap has done wonders on Binance Smart Chain.

It's indeed a crazy period in crypto right now. I'm afraid of the opposite.

It's not news that the Ethereum gas fees have continued to soar, no thanks to the boom of the DeFi ecosystem. And Ethereum network being the most popular platform for DeFi innovation, the network is always congested which has made gas prices to soar.

Ethereum miners now make more money from gas fees than from block rewards. In January alone, miners made a staggering 830m USD.

The question is: Is this not an attempt to get a lion share of the DeFi boom since they can still confirm transactions for some fractions of the current high gas?

Cryptocurrency discussions / Re: Percentage of project success in 2021?
« on: February 17, 2021, 11:37:46 PM »
Most projects are opting for initial decentralized offering (IDO) rather than ICO or IEO now, except on Binance launchpad. The bull season has made many of this new projects very successful in terms of tokensale and listing price, with some doing ×20 within hours/days of listing.

I can say that everything is pumping because the season is green, it's the year of the 0x.

DEGO is a top NFT project that is still under the radar. The team has been versatile and keep working on expanding the frontiers of the project. I just hope it gets listed on Binance soon cos it deserves it.

I hold some small bag of DEGO. I'm bullish about it too.
