It depends on your needs... if you already have crypto DEXs can be great, but if you need a fiat onramp or desire more complex trading instruments, then centralized exchanges would be the way to go.

There is so much money out there that will not enter the space until there is regulation in place comparably to other more traditional asset classes like stocks... in the short-term new regulation could be bearish, but in the long run, the increase in the money that would flow into the space with further regulation would be very bullish.

This is very true. Currently the entire crypto market is couples to bitcoin's price action... the only thing I can think of that will change this is if another crypto asset (ETH being the only realistic possibility in the medium term) overtakes bitcoin in market cap (and keeps that position). In that case we might see crypto markets decoupling from bitcoin and it's 4-year halving cycles...

Cryptocurrency discussions / Re: We need to stop scammer by education
« on: July 23, 2021, 03:19:49 PM »
Getting educated in the space removes the risk of falling for scams... the problem is that it takes time for newcomers to get that education and it is as newcomers to crypto that people are more susceptible and fall for scams.

Cryptocurrency discussions / Re: Long Term Investment Suggestion
« on: July 23, 2021, 03:18:09 PM »
Buying XRP is a suicidal decision as it has issues from SEC. Many exchanges will delist XRP soon already  process started. So i won't suggest it to buy. Hence TRX, DOT, ADA are the best for long term holding as well as for staking in wallets or in exchanges like binance. I am staking TRX, DOT in binance which is profitable to me and also helps me to hold it.

What you say seemed true of XRP towards the beginning of the SEC lawsuit, but by now (although nothing is guaranteed until we find out the final SEC ruling) what little indications we have point to the likelihood that the SEC decision will actually be favorable to XRP in which case there will be gains to be had (since the price has been suppressed because of the SEC issues)... but yes since this is not guaranteed, it remains a risk.

Crypto assets will continue to grow, however it will be along time before they might replace fiat currencies (or CBDCs) because so long as governments exist, they would have all the reason to resist entirely switching to a currency they can't control.

The current financial systems of the world have only survived this long because of the governments' ability to control the money supply (by increasing the supply as needed).

But that's a separate issue from crypto assets becoming more established in their current narratives (stores of value, decentralized computing, utilities...) ... there is no doubt they will continue their rise in these narratives.

Cryptocurrency discussions / Re: Do not Invest while market is UP

This is all very valid advice... however it turns out that it is at the very top of a bull run that any market gets the most amount of positive coverage in the media, prompting many new investors to join in hoping that things will continue "going to the moon", and these investors are the ones who suffer losses.

Cryptocurrency discussions / Re: Are you buying now?
« on: July 21, 2021, 03:25:33 PM »
Trying to time the market is difficult... I buy a small amount on a regular basis, in those times I feel prices are in more of a 'dip', I buy a little more than I would otherwise. But my time horizon is long-term and this strategy (pretty much dollar cost averaging with a little more buying in the dips) has worked out well in the past.

Cryptocurrency discussions / Re: Bull Run No More in 2021?
« on: July 21, 2021, 03:21:25 PM »

While I am still highly hoping and wishing that there can be another round of bull run within 2021, am also preparing for the possibility that it will not anymore happen and that maybe there can be another one but in 2022. Based on many things happening right now, I think the bulls are lacking the energy to make a comeback and slowly the bears are taking over or at least doing it on the sideways.

Do you have the same feeling too or you choose to stick to be positive on your own?
As far as Bitcoin and the general cryptocurrency market is concern, I don't like to rule out any possibility of anything happening at anytime until we are out of 2021 and the market did not recover and a new ATH is set. I believe though that, because bitcoin has been trading in a sideways like direction for about a month or so now, might just mean the market might have been close to the bottom even if not at the bottom, and for the rest half of the year, we could actually see another rally upward for Bitcoin price.

Have been keeping up from opinions on the market from various sources and many experts seem to share your viewpoint... certainly hope so.

Cryptocurrency discussions / Re: Elon Musk Is At It Again
« on: July 21, 2021, 03:18:51 PM »
Elon is a master of money and cryptocurrency manipulator, so with Bitcoin, no one knows when he is in or out, or when he makes his little Tweetshitter announcements to his millions of followers? Hopefully, people will ignore him someday because, for me, he is not a good guy anymore.

What he says about crypto, specifically the recent comments on BTC and ETH, displays a lack of in depth knowledge about them... there were many reasonable counter-arguments to the tweet mentioned in this post, however of course those accounts don't have nearly the extent of following that Elon's Twitter account enjoys.

Cryptocurrency discussions / Re: How do you fight Market depression
« on: July 21, 2021, 03:16:48 PM »
There is a lot of gains to be had in crypto (more so than in any other investment asset class available to masses) --the price we pay for these gains is that we must persevere through the volatility. This is a game of patience and time. I feel that the depression spoken of here only happens at entry... after the first cycle we participate in, we understand that the ups and downs are a natural part of the crypto space... the bear market is where the real money is made.

Yup. This is the time to be patient.

The amount of development in the crypto space (and how fast DeFi, NFTs, etc. are growing) gives me hope that the current bear market is shorter lived than one might expect. There is so much more crypto development going on now with much larger players participating as compared with 4 years ago.

Consider this: it's not a matter of IF the market will turn around, WHEN is the question. As mentioned above, this is a game of patience and your patience will be handsomely rewarded... this is certain. The uncertain part is how long you might have to wait. So just keep calm and HODL on.

Cryptocurrency discussions / Re: Are you selling now?
« on: July 20, 2021, 02:44:03 PM »
All the people who sell now will surely sell at a loss. All people who do not sell now have a much better chance of making a profit regardless of the current market situation. The whales not only buy cryptocurrencies, the first thing they buy is the fear of all those who sell, believing that everything is over. When everything falls, what the market is really doing is preparing to rise again.

True. We can see that whale addresses are accumulating bitcoin according to data from glassnode and other sources.

The sound advice is to follow the smart money in crypto... follow the largest holders and you will do well. And yes they buy when no one else wants to be buying.
