After a near-unstoppable uptrend, Ethereum’s rally was stopped dead in its tracks just 20 hours ago. In the span of just around ten minutes, the price of the leading cryptocurrency plunged from $415 to a low of $325 on most spot exchanges.

Ethereum saw one of the most intense drops it has seen since mid-March yesterday, with the cryptocurrency’s price reeling from highs of $415 to lows of $300 in a matter of minutes.

This decline caught bulls off guard, as the crypto was previously flashing signs of overt strength as it pushed higher each day.

ETH’s sharp decline also came about in tandem with that seen by Bitcoin, which faced a grim rejection at $12,000 that caused its price to decline down towards $11,000.

Bitcoin investors are shrugging off the recent drop in value that saw a loss of over 10.9% on Sunday. A number of speculators believe the price is still very bullish but expect some more big dips along the way. Meanwhile, optimism has been cushioned as onchain statistics show that exchange withdrawals also surpassed deposits on Sunday.

Statistics show that the decentralized finance (defi) economy has grown massively this year as the total value locked (TVL) in defi recently surpassed $4 billion. Between dex platforms, derivatives, stablecoins, lending, and non-fungible asset creation the second quarter of 2020 has propelled the Ethereum network to new heights.

The Northern California District Court finds that claims against Ripple Labs and its token made by two investors cannot be proven.

The legal dispute, which began in May 2018, pitted Ripple Labs including CEO Brad Garlinghouse and disgruntled investors.

According to a report, the discontented investors wanted the court to determine whether the “native token XRP is, or is not a security by legal definition.”

In 2008, Satoshi Nakamoto essentially solved the infamous computational issue called the “Byzantine generals’ problem” or the “Byzantine Fault.”

Throughout the history of man, people used ledgers to record economic transactions and property ownership. A ledger is often referred to as the “principal book,” and entries can be recorded in stone, parchment, wood, metal, and with software as well. Ledgers were used for centuries, but the shared ledger system became really popular in 1538 when the church kept records.
