R.I.P John McAfee: a famous crypto advisor

McAfee made headlines in the crypto space and mainstream media for a July 2017 prediction that the price of Bitcoin (BTC) would reach $500,000 by 2020. When the price of the crypto asset looked even more bullish in November 2017, McAfee doubled down, claiming that BTC would reach $1 million by 2021.

I was a fan of McAfee back in 2017 when he advertised a lot of potential new crypto projects, such as Electroneum ETN. I was also an opponent of McAfee when he abused his popularity for projects that lacked transparency in 2018-2019. But in the end, we still have to admit that McAfee in 2017 is like ElonMusk in 2021. They are both big influencers in the crypto market.

OK, goodbye McAfee, maybe his work for the crypto market will be remembered more than the antivirus he created. In the future, I think the time will come when our children will learn about blockchain & crypto in schools, and McAfee will be mentioned again as the first to speak out in favor of this new financial sector.

It seems that John McAfee did not find any other way out for himself but to leave this life voluntarily. In any case, this is not a way out of the situation. I also invested in Universa because I believed in McAfee, but unfortunately, that project could not be as successful as I expected. Anyway, thanks to McAfee for making the crypto market grow strongly in 2017 and become a big market of economy.
Hope Elon Musk will refer to this event to have less manipulative effects on the crypto market.

RIP John McAfee, i thought that it's a fake news when this sad news was started to circulate into twitter yesterday. But really shocked to hear this as he'd helped the 2017-18's bull market and also got backlash when bear market started. But we're really thankful to him for his actions on crypto space.

John McAfee always seemed like a true genius to me before entering the crypto space, he was an advanced visionary of his time, launching his antivirus and computer security products. I hope that the causes of his death will soon be clarified, I do not believe even half of the things that the media says. My condolences to family and friends.

Yes he was very different and brave person who talked about financial freedom but many people also complain that they lost money following him as he used to announce pump coins a couple years back which resulted in loss to most of the investors. Anyways I think his death should be thoroughly investigated.

Personally, I never am a fan of him so far. And also I think that he is one of the people who are willing to have a big name in crypto, but it is nonsense. Because mostly what he is talking about is nonsense and over. His prediction is sometimes like a very high dream and also too high to reach.

He will surely be missed. i think he is a great guy. he was found dead inside his cell at spain after the court has granted a permission to extradite him back to the USA. the news of death never make the rounds because so many people invested in scam projects he advertised and they loosed out their funds.

Sad to hear this information, because he died in custody and I think we will always remember how he predicted bitcoin price and supported new crypto projects to be better known by the public.

I would consider John McAfee as one of the pioneers in the world of cryptocurrency, most especially as a social media influencer. At the height of his popularity, his words were always sought out by the media and I am sure that in that time he got many followers who were then taking his lead as the way to go. The best lesson from John are mainly two things: 1. Don't take things too far and 2. Always make sure you got an accountant that will review your taxes.
