Important blog post by ETCDEV Founder, Igor Artamonov (@splix):

ETCDEV Funding:

That's good information about the ethereum classic ETC for all of community members.

The EmeraldSDK encapsulates all Emerald tools & capabilities in a single interface; no need to worry about tool configuration.

Should ETC rename its base currency? Is calling it ether confusing for users?

Since June, Ethereum Classic ETC daily transaction volume has been relentless; not once dipping below 40k tx/day

No spamming, spoofing, or bs “stress tests”

They don’t want to be second rate. Ethereum Classic has all the necessary components & a clear potential to grow into a major smart contract execution platform

ETC is not ETCDEV

Just as anyone from ETCDEV is not the CTO of ETC

They are a very important part of the ecosystem and have a way of reaching funding via the “ETC Community Fund.”

FUD is everywhere now

https://forum.ethereumclassic.org/t/funding-available-etc-community-fund-now-live/1882

ICYMI: The EmeraldSDK encapsulates all essential Emerald tooling & capabilities in a single interface with no need to worry about tool configuration.

BUIDL on ETC today!

Does ETC still have ETC developers?
YES: ETCDEV is simply one of many companies and independent contributors in the truly decentralized ETC ecosystem.

The developers of Ethereum Classic have finally agreed that a 51% attack on the network has really happened and suggested that it turned out to be connected with the testing of new miners.

The total amount of funds implicated in the double spend hack is 88,500 ETC  (~460,000 USD).

The first reports that 51% of the Ethereum Classic is under attack came on Monday night, but the project’s representatives initially denied it.

And only on Monday evening, the team announced that it had found a plausible explanation for what had happened. According to them, ASIC miners Linzhi Shenzhen were tested with new devices for the Ethash algorithm with 1,400 / Mh.
After that the CEO of Linzhi Shenzhen, Wolfgang Spraul refused the claims that Linzhi is involved in the chain reorganization: We are categorically denying such claims, they are entirely baseless and may be part of the attack itself.
