投幣經典遊戲『R-Type』和『R-Type II』一同來到PlayStation®Network了！挑戰十四道由Bydo寄生的關卡時，你可以隨心所欲、瞬間來回切換復古的2D繪圖畫面或是閃亮的3D畫面。嶄新的3D畫面同時搭載重新詮釋過的R-Type經典音效！經典的遊玩方式未做更動，但是新的Infinite遊戲模式可讓玩者保留從遊戲初始到最後頭目戰的進度——Bydo此次將無所遁形！兩種遊戲模式皆可以單人遊玩或是本地多人遊玩的方式進行。打起精神，準備拯救地球，摧毀邪惡的Bydo帝國吧！
