Making thread is better when you came up with it because of researches and not opinions. It contain more points than commenting, I guess about three or more points are given. It will really help them to increase their ranking.

Making thread is 3 points.
Starting topics is much better than posting but sometimes it is difficult to think new ones to be discuss.

News of cryptocurrency change every day so shearing new information will be helpful for everyone. And if you can help the question asked by people is also good as this is a very helpful forum. So don't focus on one thing. Do both to improve the forum.

I think the best advice is to do whatever makes you feel the most natural and comfortable...  trying to force yourself out of your comfort zone can be really awkward and can make your time here feel forced and that's definitely not our goal as a community... just be you and let whatever comes, come naturally.

I think that both creating new post and replying of new post are good for newbie even to high rank members. An old topic will enable you to get more experience on the forum and new topic bring out your ideas of what you have learnt about crypto. This is my opinion.

Both is good. When you reply a post, you are able to either throw more light by your reply or appreciate the writer. While with topics, you create post with the aim of both engaging your audience and also adding to their knowledge.
