For me its not like that If I set a target I will not cut my trades sometimes I cut my trades earlier according to the market condition. We all know every time one can not achieve the target even sometimes book loss as well. To avoid greediness one must adapt ourselves according to the market condition. Like a loss is not a loss unless we sell it on the loss if we hold it and the price moves back again then we can be in profit again. From the little experience am having in Cryptocurrency one of the first thing  i believe you should avoid is Greediness  you might endup losing your fund due to Greediness for example you bought a coin and you decide to sell when the coin gets to a particular price but from your own research you believe it won't get there is better you just take your profit even if it is not much or you can just set stop lose so that it will sell it when is about to dump.
