it is very important since the entire ideas and goals of the project are embedded in it. Choosing a good bounty comes with research and you need all the info you need. whitepapers have been helpful in writing blogs and other campaigns.

I don't think so since so many project have really great whitepaper but that project running not same with their whitepaper and their roadmap, I seen really many project like that, so this make us really hard to choose an project, I have joined a project with really great whitepaper and that project have own exchange, but after many users use their exchange, they stole the user's coins and tokens, and fox that project are scams.
From this I learn if whitepaper can't be a guarantee if that project are good, because whitepaper can be created but not sure if they running based ot that whitepaper.

Reading whitepaper is only part of choosing a "good" ICO. I start off with reading whitepaper but whith just whitepaper alone is never enough to spot a "good" ICO. For example how competitive their team is and what is their marketing steps to ensure their ICO is able to reach the maximum awareness and gathering the maximum potential investors.
