Suggestion Box / Re: Suggestion about giving negative karma
« on: Today at 03:27:07 PM »
If negative Karma is given to someone unintentionally then it's okay but when someone doesn't like the way you create a post or they just wants to destroy the reputation of a particular member can use this against them since granting Karma is not limited apart from time restrictions.

Any systematic incorrect actions with karma will be found and treated as they should: the abusers will get penalties, all karma reduced as a way of destroying the reputation will be restored. So better not trying to abuse the karma system, it won't stay unattended. ???

Suggestion Box / Re: Mixers Board

These subsections can logically be placed in different global boards or main sections, so when searching in a correct board and not finding some can despair and decide that there's no such topic at all. So for some sections there is an additional redirection in other most expected places.
For the user experience, this is a terrible solution. Going through the forum regularly, I see the same things over and over again. It seems quite illogical to me.
Maybe these would be negligible things if we had the possibility of ignoring/hiding certain boards or child boards.

We, users of the forum should not be victims of better SEO and adaptation for search engines.

It's not for SEO, it's for users, so they can find a section in the place it can be expected. You can make a topic for this issue and propose to cut the redirection links you don't like. If many other users will agree with your view on this, I'm sure admin will take it into account. ???

Just a misunderstanding here. I said if you don't allowed the person who has carried the bad reputation from another forum here to post in the public domain, how will we know that he has changed if he only pm the admin?

If we will examine the evidence and will clearly see that he's a scammer, it is hardly expected that a scammer will ever improve his behavior. And we don't want increasing the probability of our users being scammed. So instant block on a scammer is justified. ???

And if someone has a tag for AI, plagiarism, low quality posting, conflicts with other users, they can get a fresh start here and try not to bring bad habits with them. If they will stay in the rules boundaries they can freely communicate here, no ban expected for them. :)

Isn't that creating unnecessary noise and making it difficult time wasting to use the forum?

These subsections can logically be placed in different global boards or main sections, so when searching in a correct board and not finding some can despair and decide that there's no such topic at all. So for some sections there is an additional redirection in other most expected places.

Mixers topics ideas are limited, but for privacy they seem broader. We can think about how to use Blinded Bearer certificates, Zero-knowledge proofs, Mimblewimble, and others. I doubt the number of topics or the nature of the discussions will find interest, as the majority will not be interested in discussing these things.

We still have some sections which are not very popular, so making new sections is not a thing we should hurry with. Some of the privacy topics can be discussed in the Technical Discussion, some in Cryptocurrency discussions, few others in General Discussion. If there will be the really huge activity on this topic with many many dozens of active threads we can rethink it again, right? :)

Only the admin can't understand the behavior of people. The user has to come to the public to display his or her character to everyone that he is has changed and that will be how the person response to comments and the thread is creating. The character the person would display to the admin might not be the same with other people. Private discussions in good but the person will still come to the public to interact with others. So it is good for the person to come to the public. And the person must have a think skin because definitely there must be n attacks.

Change is a constant thing and it must be in gradual process. You don't rush someone to change his or her character immediately but allow them to adapt to the environment.

Really? ;D Dude, please share us some examples of users who were making some simple mistakes, them immediately got ban on posting and them had no option to show that they want to improve! I will be really surprised even if you'll find one single example! Most times I hear that we are too soft and not that we are too harsh! :o

AltcoinsTalks is a friendly forum. Are you sure you are writing your ideas about this place and not about some other one? ;)

Suggestion Box / Re: Suggestion about giving negative karma
« on: Today at 10:59:28 AM »
There should be some changes regarding this needed for sure or at least making the information public that who is giving negative and positive Karma will expose lot of farms and fraudsters.

Until Now I received about 3 negative Karma and I have no idea who gave it to be, but it could be a result of pointing out the wrong info of someone and they are not satisfied with it but it's not really good for the future of the forum in my opinion.

Main solution to solve the problem with single occasional -karmas is to try to improve your posts so to get more +karmas. Many of us get some occasional -karmas, sometimes it even can be done by a mistake when someone wants to give +karma but mistakenly taps -karma. Well, not very pleasant but as long as others tend to give +karma more often occasional -karma is not a real issue. ???

The idea of a mixers board is definitely good and promising but it's not time for that yet. ANN section is one of the most close to the top so crypto projects can be easily found when they open their representing topics. Mixer projects also present in this important section and are visible their enough. Until this section will become really overcrowd there's no need in separating one projects from another. But we definitely will mark this idea in the memory. It is good. :)

a second chance?

The one can use his second chance when he gets his first warnings, when he gets negative badges, etc. If he still preferred to misbehave I'd not said that there will be a second chance. ;D

It is impossible to give infinite number of chances to those who use them just to break the rules again and again. ???

Besides, @damsix has clearly violated more than one rule. More than that, he has a red quality bar badge. That only means he will never get the benefit that you have mentioned as the campaign managers limit working with users like that.

He paid $5 and now his red dot badge has been removed. He is now eligible for a signature campaign.  :-\

AltcoinsTalks is a friendly forum and sometimes this makes some things more complicated, but when you stay here for long enough you see that many things are going here easier than can be expected and it is very comfortable for those who respect the rules, respect others and stay friendly. You can just relax and enjoy communicating because you know that even if you'll make some mistake, you'll first get a gentle reminder to stay in the rules boundaries and if you are not intending to do anything bad, you'll never get any significant problems here. 8)

This error is discussed in "[Error] "No Subject Was Filled In" Error" topic in Bugs & Tech support section. So I'll close this topic not to multiply the same things. You can continue this discussion there. :)

Rather it reduces spam.

Report to moderator button is under every post. If there is spam you can just inform moderators about that and this will reduce it. I have statistics not about all sections, but all where I see have no unprocessed reports. It takes maximum several hours to process mostly all reports. ???
