No, no one has said that. What happened was probably a specific problem (as specified by @Yamane_Keto) as I said in my last post. A DDoS attack doesn't last a few seconds, it lasts a long time. There are also no pirate ships that want to demand ransoms, otherwise, things wouldn't be so calm here. Knowing what has happened and what the causes of the problem have been, we should relax and enjoy the forum.

I've never asked the administrator directly, but knowing how well he does his job, I'm sure he will make regular backups of the forum (users, posts, etc.) to avoid potential problems. Everything can be improved in life, and maybe there are things that could increase security, like using 2FA for user login, for example, but all of that takes a lot of time and work, and the administrator must now have a important work queue.

You should not be afraid, it is normal to worry, but the best we can do is think and suggest how to increase security. But the most important thing of all is that we must be patient for the reasons I just told you..

I do not use 2FA on the forum (no one can use it) because  it is an option that is not implemented. It would really be a very interesting option in the forum, since it would increase the security of the users, maybe the administrator can implement it in the future, as long as the forum software allows it (I suppose it is compatible). Yes, it is the same system you use to connect to your Binance account, for example. It is very useful, although like everything related to security/cybersecurity, it also has weak points, but it always provides another layer of security.

As @Zed0X said, it is probably a specific failure of a few minutes due to the work and changes that the administrator is making. It could also be due to a fault with your ISP (it happened to me a few days ago) but as I say it is just something specific. There is nothing to worry about.

In reality, what happened yesterday was not an error or a failure, as the administrator explains, it was a server upgrade that became a bit complicated and I think it lasted about 5 hours, as you can read in this thread. Nothing to worry about, a more powerful server for the forum.

Your problem is different from others, have you checked the altcoinstalks website correctly?
This is scarier than I thought, is it possible that this is because the altcoinstalks are starting to increase in rating so that hackers are appearing?

Basically every website in the internet suffer A LOT of ddos attacks.

This is why those giant services providers such as cloudflare and aws have so many clients, because they are the only ones who have infrastructure to protect against such attacks.

that is a limitation of the bot that cannot understand that the forum is down
then it times out and the counters obviously go to zero
we should add the possibility of understanding if the forum is down and you don't have to do anything

Other websites are loading very fast for me but this forum sometimes lags even after the upgrade. I think the load is increasing on the server that might be creating the issue of lag. I don't know if I'm the one having website loading lag or others might be having the same issue.

However, when I on my VPN and connect to another route, the site will open instantly and very fast but my local network doesn't.

It also don't connect to my network but when I use th same local network from a wifi, it goes and sometimes it doesn't but right now, it seems okay because I'm using my device network and it's working fine now. Couple admin tell us when or after they are done with upgrade to know what's happening.

I had seen that lag you are referring to before, on rare occasions, but it was not something exaggerated. However, since the administrator changed the server, I have never had delays loading any forum pages. It also coincides with the fact that a few days ago I updated my OS and I have noticed a certain speed in other things as well.

The reasons can be several, from your OS, cookies or, most likely, your ISP, which suffers some latency depending on which routes the traffic is directed to.
