The reason why altcoins are not depending on their own because bitcoin is still the King of crypto currency that always has big influence for altcoins performance.
Bitcoin is still the biggest.

You're right, altcoins are always depending on bitcoin.
When bitcoin struggles , altcoins too.
As you said, It's because of bitcoin is the King of crypto currency.
Maybe at the coming future, bitcoin will be replaced

Bitcoin is now heavily dependent on the stock market and strongly correlates with it. There should be a paradigm shift so that people start buying it when the Nasdaq falls.

bitcoin is a benchmark that has passed the test of time. The rest of the coins are essentially startups, which are the personification of technologies that have yet to prove their worth.
