Title: Would you use an altcoin site/service which accepts BTC over a bridge?

Flow would be like:

• install altcoin wallet (e.g. MetaMask)
• send BTC to the cross-chain-bridge which deposits wBTC (wrapped BTC) to your altcoin wallet (cost: normal bitcoin tx fees)
• click on a link that lets you swap your wBTC to altcoin (cost: ~0.5 cents)
• use service with altcoin (cost: zero, sponsored tx fees)

Would you use this? If not, why?

Isn't that what's happening right now with most of these L2 solutions?

yes, at least in the ethereum space. But I'm not too familiar with whats happening in the bitcoin space.
Have you used something similar already with BTC? do you have a link?
