exactly mostly emotional control, that what most gamblers lacks. Though we Humans are emotional beings but we still have to control it, we don't just face this in gambling alone but in other parts in this space like trading and investing. When one emotions are becoming overwhelming , he or she endup making rash and reckless decision Which would endup triggering more losses, so to prevent such from happening we should gamble responsibly by using money one could afford to risk. And not chasing after profit when one has started losing. Better still when you see such us happening just call it a day.

Without emotional control, it will be difficult to manage your bankroll. Both go hand in hand. When you set a bankroll limit and then get to the limit, the ability to stop gambling at this point is a function of your ability to control your emotions. Most times you will have that urge to continue gambling especially when you are winning and other times you just want to recoup your losses before you pause. When faced with this dilemma you only have to control your emotions to be able to walk away.

Totally agree that gambling is a 50-50 chance and it is guided by luck. But it is very hard for a gambler to quit drastically if he losses money as the tendency to chase the loss is there. A gambler needs to have a ton of self discipline to avoid the negative effects of it. It is okay to not quit gambling as long as you are not broke because of it, in short, you must be a disciplined gambler.

I think gambling has a 60/40 chance. The casino always has an edge over the player. This can be likened to a situation where in a racing competition, one of the runners is given some steps ahead of other runners. In this analogy, the runner ahead is the casino whereas the other runners are the gamblers. In this situation, it will not be easy for gamblers to win and so you require luck and skill to win which is always not easy.

I have had different experiences with gambling ranging from laugh and frown, cry and calm, happiness and sadness, winning and losing, and excitement and anger. Every gambler at a point must experience such. It is part of the game. I have been able to pay bills from winning from gambling which brings excitement and hope that gambling is profitable.

I have had a funny experience. That is, there was a time I played a game and the game wasn't going as I predicted so I cashed out the game. Sadly, well I find it funny, immediately I cashed out, the team I gave winning scored and went ahead to win the game. I just smiled because I had profited from the cash out already.

You are right. I can relate to this. This is why most of my research and analysis is done on the night preceding the match day. The reason is that nights are my quiet time and I can have full concentration when I do my analysis. With this, I can foresee some risky games and then avoid them completely. This pattern has helped me in my gambling. Even though I don't win every day, whenever I check my losses and wins, I'm profiting.

I have come to observe that when you are eager to win in gambling, you don't win. Take your time to gamble with the mindset of catching a cruise and you will be surprised to win. When you think you can make it in gambling, your way of gambling will be affected and this change will create more problems in your life than it solves.

I advise that you should quit gambling if your reason is to make money or become rich from it. That's a wrong reason to gamble so just quit and save yourself the doom that lies ahead of you. However, if you can't resist it, then set monetary and time limits and make sure you follow them to the letter.

The cost of things will continue to remain on the high side because the leadership is not making a reasonable effort to ensure that people have to spend little to survive. When a system is bad everything in that system will be bad also. For things to change for the better, we have to change the way we do things in our country. If we can revamp our economy things will get better and the cost of living will be affordable.

Well said. Gambling is always tricky and so you need to be wise to escape its negative arrow. As you noted, winning in gambling is not enough. What matters is how you utilize the winning. If you are too excited you will end you losing everything and become frustrated. Most times, frustration is the reason people engage in chasing loss. When you feel you cannot accommodate your loss, you will end up losing more and so create more problems for yourself.

Gambling can make a student to skip classes. Use the money for school bills to gamble. Risk writing exam for failure to pay exam fees. Miss quizzes because of always being absent from school. Lacks learning and reading materials because of using the money for gambling. Sells phones or laptops to settle debts incurred due to gambling.

The above is the behavior of a student who is addicted to gambling. All these will lead to academic failure and then create psychological problems for the gambler.

I agree with you. Outside the fact that the government benefits from gambling activities, most top politicians and businessmen see gambling as an activity for fun so banning gambling would be taking away an activity that brings fun and pleasure to this set of people and owing to the fact that this set of people are at the corridor of power, they will not allow gambling to be banned.

Now, it is not about the ills gambling brings to the majority but rather the excitement the politicians and businessmen get. And their interest is always what matters to them.
