I agree with you even though there are now growing number of alternative wallets, but the habitual factor also affects because of the risks that occur when we use a new one. myetherwallet has also made enough changes to make the job quite simple and easy and there's nothing wrong with continuing to use because moreover I have never experienced anything that happens to make a loss.

You will use this wallet depending on your needs with development wise you will be better off with an ether wallet if you are a user and just want to save the ether blockchain wallet that's ok. agree, that until now, myetherwallet is still the best for the ethereum wallet, because it has been proven to be very tough and reliable, if someone gets their tokens stolen in MEW, it can be ascertained because of the negligence they have made themselves. because the MEW wallet has been fixed properly and is very tough to be broken into by irresponsible people.

So far, I think the best Ethereum wallets are MEW and Metamask. These wallets have been used for years and I think there are no big problems with these wallets. Many people already used these wallets because they are simple and quite easy to use. I am pretty sure that no other wallets used massively to store ETH unless MEW and Metamask.

Most of the people use myetherwallet. I also use myetherwallet. I have seen many of my friends lost there everything for visiting pishing site and put their privet key. You always need to store your privet key at safe and don't visit in phishing site as i do.

Right, Negligence is the main reason. My few friends's MEW hacked due to their negligence. I have been warned them but they didn't listen. Now all are using Myetherwallet with Metamask connecting securely. Every documents like private key, Backup Pharase, Keystore file should be saved in a safer place, better is to save in offline diary or note.

I use Metamask & MEW, and find them quite secure, in which Metamask uses keywords and MEW uses private key. Of course, these two wallets are not as secure as cold wallets, but my crypto assets are not very large and do not need to use the hardware wallets you mentioned.
