I think Ethereum is more popular, So I don't believe polkadot can compete to Ethereum at this year. Maybe at the next year mate. Because We all know ethereum is so popular and ERC20 system is still worthy.

Indeed, Polkadot was created to compete with Ethereum with an open system to facilitate each coin being sent.
But I haven't seen the loopholes that Polkadot can generate in terms of hacking, maybe at the moment it's still strong but then if Polkadot wants the system to be strong then I make sure I have to keep updating the system because it's very dangerous to combine various blockchains in one Polkadot blockchain.

I agree mate, polkadot is the next competitor of Ethereum. Polkadot has been create to do it. Polkadot has shown good performance and was be number #4 now. It is good position to go. Hopefully we will see the best competition at this year

As far as I know from the study, Etherium and Pollockdot are two coins made by the same owner.As such it can certainly act as an ally of Etherium.But it will take some time.I got to know a lot more information from your post.

That's the main points DOT needs to prove in the future what Ethereum done already. Although in few aspects, DOT surpassed ETH but it needs a long way to compete with Ethereum. So we can say as "Potential competitor of future" but still not to be considered as competitor.

You are right, the cost of erc20 gas is expensive, but once users can use the Beacon chain network, the gas costs will be more affordable.

Polkadot is an innovation that in my opinion is almost the same as its predecessor, I support this project, but whether Polkadot can survive like ethereum from many fraudulent projects then rise with the DeFi project and the Uniswap idea from Vitalik, I will see the development of Polkadot and try to invest in it

Even though it is still a long way from being the next Ethereum, I think Polkadot is going in that direction.  I've heard that Polkadot is a development of Ethereum, so it is certain that what is in Polkadot will be in Ethereum but not the other way around.
