Title: Monero Fork
Post by: blbruegg on October 08, 2018, 03:03:17 AM
In case anyone needed the information Monero will be forking on October 18th to their new pow method.  Mining algo has slight changes so miner software must be updated.  XMR-STAK doesn't have a release but the master copy on github can currently be compiled for testing.  Other miners also have test forks available for compile.

Relevent information in articles.

Monero (XMR) forked successfully earlier today, and the network has seen no major hiccups so far. This release is unlike the usual ones that try to keep up with deterring ASIC miners. The release, called “Monero 0.13.0 “Beryllium Bullet,” includes a significant overhaul of the network’s protocol through the introduction of bulletproofs.

Will it also be possible to stake Monero? I think this is better for people with no technical knowlege or users with only a few coins.
