I'm still seeing a lot of these accounts selling fake passport #moderation s, weed, and some deepweb website/platform. Any of the remaining active members here should really help out reporting those posts and mods should instantly ban those accounts (not just delete post). For sure, new accounts will be created to spam again but let's just keep on reporting them.

There are many accounts who just recommend a site, sometimes even in succession. They’re obviously a scam, but is there no way to ensure they can’t make other accounts?

the biggest problems in forums is the amount of spam
i have been involved in forums for more than 10 years, and this problem never disappear,
no wonder why a lot of forums decide to close.
I am trying my best to fight spam, and of course your help would be greatly appreciated.
so far i have deleted or banned more than 10 000 members, whom are spam bots or spam accounts

That's really a lot, this is the first time I heard where you banned more than 10k members here in the forum.
How did you do that anyway? did you use the bot? Because as far as I know, it will be hard for you to do it manually, isn't it right? Anyway, it means you work with dedication, and determination, thanks for this one reminders to us here.

Do you work alone to fight the spam?
Idk how it started but I wondered about the selection of the moderators based on polling or something else? e.g the moderators on my local board, of the three not so active in this forum (maybe they were also more active in other forums), even the last time they were active a week ago. The role of the moderator is needed to fight spam so that this forum attracts more productive/constructive users. For me, the reduction in the number of users but their quality is better than the number of users increasing but just sh*t everywhere.

If you are thinking about re-electing moderators, at least you have more adequate conditions than before and the involvement of all members of this forum in the election is recommended to get good results too. The reasons for their eligibility to be moderators also need to be asked.

Hello, thank you for your response. There is a plan to demote some of the old moderators and of course to promote some users as mods or jr. mods. This will be done in the near future.

One of the biggest problems in forums is that people cheat and try to run multiple accounts.

If they would read the forum rules, they'll find out, that the result of such behaviour could lead to marking of all of their accounts as doubles and impossibility of wearing signatures, avatars, changing personal info, etc. So better they'd not run multiple accounts, for their good. ;)
