Russia remains to be cautious with Bitcoin and for now let's just leave them at that. I am so sure there will come a time when cryptocurrencies will be allowed in the country albeit in a highly regulated environment. The government is not banning Bitcoin mining for that matter maybe because they know it can be a good source of foreign exchange into its economy and I heard that they have a special economic zone for crypto business...maybe once they are sure of the benefits of crypto they will slowly expand its coverage.

It is cool that Russia doesn't forbid crypto. It is better to control the situation and get taxes on crypto. Of course nobody can stop crypto development in the world. And it is better to use blockchain technologies in different fields. For example it will be testing of digital ruble soon (12 banks will take part in testing).
