Correlation between Altcoin and Bitcoins price?

Aside from being both cryptocurrency, is there possibly any connection? In any way i looked at it, they were entirely two different thing. Although bitcoin is the very first cryptocurrency BUT altcoins especially ethereum in my opinion have much much way more potentials than bitcoin. So why do most of the time, Altcoins prices do follow that of Bitcoins?

It is very difficult to answer, because there are so many things behind it, one of them might be because investors still have confidence in BTC, but wait, soon, in the next few years ETH will beat BTC, because many exchangers use ETH as a purchase and exchange coin .

Previously like this. Altcoin was created as an alternative to Bitcoin. Now from that we conclude that the price of Altcoin will not be much different from Bitcoin. But now the conditions are different, it is precisely that Altcoin is more developed than Bitcoin, whereas in terms of price alone Bitcoin is higher than Altcoin. Since you know bitcoin as the first of crypto which is equal to the fact that bitcoin technology is the most obsolete and slowlly better coins with better technology will flow into the market as technology become more advance, the price of altcoins and bitcoin is somewhat related i think is still because crypto king is bitcoin and only the king and if bitcoin fall people confidence in crypto fall as well.
