Most of the new projects use ETH platform so MEW or Metamask is the best option for you. But there are many airdrops and bounties which use other platforms too. You need to create other wallets too. Especially Wave, Stellar, EOS, NEO, TRON etc.

For participating in bounty campaign, you must need an ERC-20 address. To get ERC-20 address you have to open an account on myetherwallet. Carefully save all the information like user id, password, keystore file, ERC-20 address etc. Keystore file is very much important. So be careful on it.
