Cryptocurrency discussions / Re: Sending in fake ID for KYC
« on: July 26, 2020, 07:05:16 AM »
I know some groups or companies who sell ID data for cheating KYC. A few years back, when blockchain.com airdrop XLM tokens, a lot of people got fortunes from faking KYC. I don't think it's easy to prevent faking KYC (as well as scams). But talking about KYC, I don't think it's a good thing. I hate revealing my identity. When you give your identity to a third party, no one can make sure your identity won't be sold or used for shady purpose.

Cryptocurrency discussions / Re: Eth address crossed $300
« on: July 26, 2020, 06:38:28 AM »
It's a little surprise to see ETH pumps so fast. It's also a disappontment that I was late to buy some more ETH. I have been expected this pump but it came sooner. As of $1000 milestone, I think it's possible but $500 is more likely, providing that ETH's ATH was $1500.

Cryptocurrency discussions / Re: Difference between coins and tokens?
« on: July 26, 2020, 06:21:38 AM »
In some cases, coins and tokens are misused and are generally called coins. It's similar to SUVs and CUVs. In many cases, high-ride vehicles are called SUVs. The real difference between a coin and a token is that a coin is run by its own blockchain while a token runs on other coin's blockchain. This makes the number of coins much higher than the number of tokens.

Cryptocurrency discussions / Re: Bounty or Airdrop kill project ?
« on: July 25, 2020, 05:13:41 AM »
I don't think bounties and airdrops kill projects. Indeed, bounties and airdrops help a lot in advertising, marketing and spreading the projects to potential investors. Without bounties or airdrops, chances of a project to reach wide range of investors are smaller and it may even face the risk of not reaching softcap. To sum up, bounties and airdrops are necessary. If a project dies, it's because of it's too bad.

Cryptocurrency discussions / Re: Does Name really matter in crypto?
« on: July 25, 2020, 05:03:55 AM »
Naming or branding at a larger scale is really important, not only in crypto but also in real life. Let's see an example. Bitconnect - the biggest scam in crypto so far once listed as BCC in some exchanges. Meanwhile, Bitcoincash - a decent altcoin is also listed as BCC in some exchange. This could lead to a numerous confusions. After Biconnect scam revealed, all exchanges changed Bitcoincash symbol to BCH, now split into BSV and BCHABC.

Cryptocurrency discussions / Re: What is happening?
« on: July 25, 2020, 04:50:19 AM »
There are always corrections between pumps. You can take your profit now and wait for the next correction and then buy again. Or you can keep holding your coins and wait for larger profit. Both solutions are acceptable. It just depends on your strategy: seeking for short term or long term profit.

Cryptocurrency discussions / Re: Defi section?
« on: July 23, 2020, 04:24:26 AM »
Defi is the new trend in cryptocurrency market. I would love to see a specific section for it, too. However, what if this trend comes to an end so fast. Remembering the Facebook's Libra last year. Admin was quick to add a particular section for Libra but it was also quick to became a dead zone since Libra project was abandoned. I think admin will consider a Defi section. Just give him some time.

There were some projects aiming on this feature, such as VET or Wabi. So far, VET is the most prominent one. Symbol will need to do a lot of things to overcome VET's shadow. That's not an easy task. However, real usage is the most important thing in this cryptocurrency market. If Symbol could end up a partnership with a big brand, it would become the biggest player in the niche.

Bounties are not profitable anymore these days. So many scam projects and if not scams, the payments are usually so small. I neither recommend doing bounties nor introduce bounties to any of my friends. I just do it when I have free time and don't have anything else to do. Only one thing to remember is always carefully choose a bounty before joining it.

Ethereum Forum / Re: Do you choose to hold Bitcoin or Ethereum?
« on: July 20, 2020, 12:03:22 PM »
Bitcoin and Ethereum are good coins and I'm holding both of them. Holding bitcoin is always a right decision, whereas Ethereum is the best coin after bitcoin. Spending money on it may result in even better profit margins. If you're not a risk taker, then probably put all of your money on bitcoin. It will bring you profit after a few years. If you're willing to take risks, put a share of your budget on ETH for better chances.

I think $15k is highly possible. The market was extremely bullish in the last few weeks. However, next month may see the low cause in Chinese calendar, it's a bad month. Also, investors tend to go on a vacation during that time. Q4 of 2020 will be noisy again, IMO. We are currently at $9k, not very far from $15k and more importantly, $15k is lower than the ATH $18k, a hard resistance.

Cryptocurrency discussions / Re: Reason Why Altcoinstalks?
« on: July 20, 2020, 11:02:32 AM »
If I recall correctly, this question has been asked several times. The common answer is due to difficulty in ranking up in Bitcointalk. I am no exception from that but I really like the friendliness of this forum. There's no discrimination between ranks, no insult from high ranks to low ranks like shit poster, merit beggar... That's something I've been enjoying the most so far on this forum.

Yeah and people blamed bounty hunters for dumping tokens' prices. The fact is bounty hunters only takes up about 1-5% of a project's total tokens. That amount can't lead to any big dump. As for Compound's case, I think its success comes too soon, especially when the Coinbase listing was annouced. Coinbase seems like the ultimate exchange a project could be listed. If you're Compound investor, what do you expect further than Coinbase listing?

Anyways, do not underestimate projects you promote a year or two years ago, they can still pay up and secondly do not leave or exit their telegram channel no matter how many years it's been, if you do you might be denied of your rewards
You maybe right but I don't think many people would pay enough attention to the projects they promoted 2 years ago. 2 years is a long journey in this fragile cryptocurrency market. A project can be born, shine and then dead during that 2-year time. For me, I only watch a project for 8-10 months after bounty. After that, I spend my attention for other better projects.

Chainlink Forum / Re: Chainlink - time to buy?
« on: July 19, 2020, 08:59:39 AM »
is still time to buy Chainlink? the price went up a lot in the past week and the market cap of this coin surpassed Litecoin and some big players in the market.
https://www.coingecko.com/en/coins/chainlink
It's too late to buy this coin if you're seeking for some short term profit. But if you're looking for long term, then it's considerable. But if I were you, I would wait for a correction then buy. Link has increased dramatically lately already. I've been watching Link for a while now and so glad that many people realize it's a good coin now. But again, the last surge was largly due to Defi hype. Buying it now is not a wise choice.
