Crypto Wallets / Re: Transferring coins between platforms/wallets
« on: May 07, 2024, 10:11:11 PM »I've recently bought some MKR (MakerDAO's governance token) through Kraken. However, I can't connect Kraken to MakerDAO's voting platform. Can I transfer my MKR from Kraken to my MetaMask wallet without having to sell and rebuy? I bought the MKR at a higher price, so selling now would mean taking a loss. I'd love to participate in MakerDAO governance with the MKR I have. Any advice?
Metamask is a decentralized wallets that supports ethereum chain and since Maker Dao is also Ethereum chain by default, you can actually vote using Metamask as the person above have suggested with the official linl above.
Actually, this is even one of the right way to vote on Makerdao, Kraken is a centralized exchanges and because you don't have the private keys to your funds, you can't do anything with your wallet unless you make use of a personal wallet and Metamask is okay for the job.
