I totally agree with you. We have to wait until the next bullrun. Next bullrun may come in 2024. If there was a bullrun every year and ethereum hit the moon, everyone would leave everything and get involved in cryptocurrency. The bullrun of 2020-21 was a headache for world leaders and many of them tried to prevent it.

As far as I know we have been there recently unfortunately Ethereum price decrease again. No, I don't think ETH will achieve $2k this year. Instead of reaching $2k, it even looks like to drop again to $1k.
The merge done by ETH developer seems to bring no impact on ETH price, the investors are really interested in it. Since nothing can trigger the increase of ETH price, it is hard to expect the price to reach $2k. In my opinion, just hope about $2k in the next year, it is something hard to reach this year.
