I believe this is a new feature you added in the forum, i don't think i would need to ignore users, if i don't like posts from a particular user, i would just stop reading them when i see it, but this feature may be important for people who like to use it to filter posts that they would read.

By the way, should the 'buddy list' be a list of ones favorite members and friends in the forum.

It may be a new feature and might have been existing for long but people couldn't easily get the means to make use of the function unlike when you just see it openly under the person's username as it appears on other forum, though we cannot expect each to have the same or similar way of settings on a particular function, another thing to consider is that it's been here to make people not to abuse it or avoid pressing on it unaware by mistake, so if you're interested in making use of the ignore list, then you deliberately go after it.

I noticed the same thing, buddy. I've checked the profile settings before, but didn't see it there. I think the Admin is gradually adding new features to the forum. It's cool because many people might want to ignore certain users. What's even better is that you can add users to your list, and the button isn't on the side of each profile like on BitcoinTalk. On BitcoinTalk, you might ignore a user without even realizing it. This way is better. Good job, Admin!

If you’re asking a question then the answer should be “yes”.

Those members you enjoy reading their posts- and also those you trust to some extent, they can be in your buddy list.

Btw, @admin can my buddy list be viewed by other forum members? And is there a way for the person I added to my buddy list to see that he/she is among my list? Or is it kept privately for only me to access?

Yes, it is cool for members who prefer to ignore some users so they won't ever come across their posts again, it is also a good feature against trolls, so you would never have any reason to engage in their topics or posts.

I am not certain, but i think both the ignore and buddy list should be private, people should not know you have ignored them, or else you decide to post the list, and the same thing should go for the buddy list, though it may not be a bad option for members to know you like their posts and you have added them to your buddy list.

Although the ignore list has not been done yet by me, I still don't think it is effective. If a bad or bad poster bothers you, you can come and execute, but I haven't executed anyone yet. Because everyone is friendly here, you can leave the post that bothers you here. Nice updates now I see many updates here constantly, and the forum is demanding great improvement, more fun.

I really got lucky this time  and it's obviously an advantage for me because I regularly visit a lot of thread on this forum, I would not have been able to come across this new feature if I had not hit this board and most people may not be aware of the new feature too, I would suggest if you can put it up as an announcement on the home page.

This is a good feature @admin, I like it but don't yet have any member to put on my ignor list.

As far as I remember, they have already done this and have an announcement when this thread was made. The admin also shared the link of this thread on the live chat, which is visible to everyone. Each information has been posted in this section, which we should check regularly to stay updated and know the answers to any questions about the forum.

Nice work. This will make those who like to have ignore list in bitcointalk to have their five thousand ignore list here. One thing I like this forum is the liberty for all. There is no cartel to oppress the weak. I thank God for the karma system here, there is no karma source yet and the highest karma one can give is 1 so if you ignore some you are just wasting your time because karma is merit that when you ignore someone you would not give the person merit. In bitcointalk most people are ignoring others because they don't want to give merit. But this system is different from there. If You ignore someone, you won't see the person's posts again and that has nothing to with the person's activeness in the forum.
