You can now ignore users in the forum using ViolentMonkey

I have created a userscript which allows anyone to ignore users in the forum.
You can use this while @admin don't add the function natively.

How to Install

1 - Download ViolentMonkey (open source) or TamperMonkey (closed source):

How to Use it


Make sure it is activate in altcoinstalk domain (only works inside topics)


Now you just need to edit my script to include your ignored user list. Click the </> marked as red.
Go to line 17 and add your ignored user list. Remove "Satoshi" and "Nakamoto" and add your trolls. Keep the username inside single quotes ' '



For educational purposes, I will ignore in the example below the users @dkbit98 and @examplens

dkbit98 told me he wants to hide topics from users on boards as well. I just did it.

It only hides content of member posts, same like in settings
I can still see all their posts in topics in board.

For example, all topics by member Ruby are seen here, and I want to hide them if possible:

It is working on boards now as well. I guess this is not exactly the same result @admin

Hey OP I think you did not know that we already had this function that we can access directly from our profile, and that function is way easier then yours and also an official one, so why would people use your third-party software that you have made, I am not objecting on you, I trust you from BTT, I am just asking you did all that work without knowing we had an option to ignore people. That's so sad you must be frustrated.

Well, I suggest, add new feature to this bot like we don't have to write the names in the script, instead we could see a ignore option beneath the person's details in the left page like we used to see in the BTT, by using the extension if that's possible?

I have tested your updated Ignore User script, and it works very good so far.
This makes it much easier for me to use this forum, and it would be a good idea to make something similar for bitcointalk forum.
Only thing I would improve is easier way of adding/removing new members, or using already members that are ignored in profile settings.

Wow!! This is awesome ignore list lovers will utilize it very well. I missed this thread and I saw the one admin created. bitmover I appreciate your contribution here. But when I was trying to download and test run the features, it shows that it is only in computer that the feature can work. And this what I see from the process.

And others have said the easiest way is to add the ignore button at the bottom side of the user's name.

Good work brother. I used to use some extensions for bitcointalk long time ago but when I was resetting my computer and had a fresh installation, everything disappeared LOL.

There is already another ignore button on every user profile, just as admin demonstrated it in the comment. It also works, but I am not really a fan of using the ignore button all the time. I learned to pay no attention to any post that is absolutely useless. Sometimes, ignored users could also learn a better way and start improving their post quality. That's why I don't ignore users so often, even on BTT.

I think the ignore/buddies adding list was only previously added, which happened only after this tool was created. And yes, this is a great tool to avoid wasting time if you have a user you don't want to see the posts or completely ignore.

I am also doing the same thing, I don't add other users to my ignore list, I'd rather see them around to check if they can somehow improve their posts and improve how they have discussions with other users.

Good job mate,Anyway can't those we delete also see our profile? Or does it just have the effect of ignoring other people's personal profiles? If it is only used to ignore our side then those who are ignored when sending messages will not be read? However this feature seems similar to the one in BTT and appreciate you bringing this feature to the ATT forum.
